جميل السيد يرد على “التهديدات السورية”: لا رهائن في لبنان بل سجناء يخضعون للقانون!
علّق النائب واللواء المتقاعد جميل السيّد عبر حسابه الرسمي على منصة “إكس” على ما وصفه بـ”التهديدات الإعلامية السورية”، التي طالت لبنان في إطار الحديث عن ملف السجناء السوريين، مشددًا على ضرورة اعتماد الحوار والتفاهم المؤسساتي بدلاً من التصعيد الكلامي.
وأوضح السيد أن ما نُشر حول تهديدات سورية للبنان باتخاذ إجراءات انتقامية في حال عدم الإفراج عن موقوفين سوريين “تم التراجع عنه لاحقًا عبر نفي رسمي إعلامي”، معتبرًا أن هذا الأسلوب لا يخدم العلاقات بين البلدين.
وقال السيد بوضوح: “لا يوجد رهائن سوريون في السجون اللبنانية، بل سجناء يخضعون للقانون اللبناني، ويمكن لسوريا طلب استرداد من تشاء منهم وفقًا لاتفاقيات تبادل سجناء معترف بها دوليًا أو يمكن التوصل إليها”.
ودعا إلى توقيع اتفاق ثنائي بين بيروت ودمشق لتسوية هذا الملف الحساس، شرط أن يترافق ذلك مع “موقف سوري واضح يدعو السوريين النازحين في لبنان إلى العودة الطوعية ويضمن استقبالهم دون عوائق”.
وأشار السيد إلى وجود قنوات تواصل رسمية قائمة بين المسؤولين اللبنانيين والسوريين، مؤكداً أن “التهديد عبر الإعلام أسلوب غير مقبول”، ومضيفاً: “لبنان ليس دولة هشّة ولا قابل لأن يكون ساحة لأي اعتداء على هويته”.
وختم بالتأكيد على أن “الاستقرار بين لبنان وسوريا لا يكون إلا بحسن الجوار، والتهدئة الإعلامية شرط أساسي لتوعية الرأي العام بعيدًا عن التشنج والانقسام الداخلي”.
Jamil Al-Sayyed Slams Syrian “Threats”: No Hostages in Lebanon, Only Legal Prisoners!
Lebanese MP and former General Jamil Al-Sayyed issued a firm response via his “X” platform (formerly Twitter), addressing what he described as unacceptable Syrian threats over the ongoing issue of Syrian prisoners held in Lebanese detention centers.
Al-Sayyed noted that certain Syrian media outlets hinted at possible retaliatory measures if Lebanon fails to release Syrian detainees — statements which were later denied through official channels.
“There are no Syrian hostages in Lebanon, only prisoners who are held under the Lebanese legal framework,” he emphasized, explaining that Syria has the right to request the return of any of its citizens through existing or new prisoner exchange agreements.
He urged both governments to reach a clear bilateral agreement regulating prisoner transfers, calling on Syria to first issue a public invitation for displaced Syrians in Lebanon to return voluntarily and guarantee their safe reintegration.
Al-Sayyed criticized the tactic of issuing threats via the media, asserting that Lebanon is not a passive state open to violations of its national identity, and that official diplomatic channels should be the sole avenue for resolving sensitive issues.
He concluded by stressing the importance of calming political discourse and encouraging mutual understanding, noting that good neighborly relations are the cornerstone of lasting regional stability.
