في حديثٍ لموقع “ليبانون ديبايت”، أكد الصحافي والكاتب السياسي أسعد بشارة أن الزيارات الخليجية التي قام بها رئيس الجمهورية إلى دول الخليج تعدّ خطوة استراتيجية وليست مجرد نشاط دبلوماسي تقليدي. وقال بشارة: “هذه الزيارات تهدف إلى إعادة وصل ما انقطع بين لبنان والعالم العربي“، مُشيرًا إلى أن النتائج الإيجابية كانت سريعة، خاصة من الجانب الإماراتي، حيث اتخذت الإمارات قرارات مهمة، من أبرزها عودة الرعايا الإماراتيين إلى لبنان، مما يعتبر خطوة بالغة الأهمية نحو تعزيز العلاقات الاقتصادية.
وأضاف بشارة أن الزيارة الأخيرة للرئيس عون إلى الكويت تندرج ضمن هذا السياق، حيث تسعى الحكومة اللبنانية إلى بناء الثقة مع دول الخليج، بهدف تحسين العلاقات الثنائية.
وفي المقابل، أبدى أسعد بشارة أسفه على محاولات التشويش التي شنّها محور الممانعة، وخاصة من حزب الله، الذي تزعّمه حملة ضد دولة الإمارات بعد زيارة الرئيس عون. واعتبر أن الهدف من هذه الحملات هو إفشال الجهود الرامية إلى تعزيز الوجود العربي في لبنان.
وشدد بشارة على أهمية رد رئاسة الجمهورية، التي أصدرت بيانًا دعت فيه وسائل الإعلام إلى الامتناع عن التعرض للدول الصديقة، مؤكدة على حرصها الشديد على العلاقات اللبنانية-العربية. ومع ذلك، يرى بشارة أن هذا الرد لا يكفي، وأنه من الضروري اتخاذ خطوات إضافية لتعزيز الانفتاح العربي على لبنان، استثمار هذه الفرصة سياسيًا واقتصاديًا.
أما في ما يتعلق بخطاب الشيخ نعيم قاسم، الأمين العام لحزب الله، الذي رحب بعودة العرب إلى لبنان، فقد قال بشارة: “رغم الترحيب النظري، إلا أن الأداء السياسي والإعلامي للحزب لا يتماشى مع هذا الموقف، والذي يُعد بحاجة إلى أفعال ملموسة بدلًا من المواقف التي تظل فارغة من أي مضمون”.
في الختام، أكّد بشارة أن حزب الله إذا كان صادقًا في نواياه لتحسين العلاقات مع الدول العربية، فعليه أن يترجم هذا الموقف إلى خطوات عملية، فالمواقف دون أفعال تبقى مجرد تصريحات بلا فاعلية.

Lebanon is currently going through one of its most delicate diplomatic phases, yet a glimmer of hope is emerging through the Gulf visits conducted by President Joseph Aoun, bringing positive signs of reconnecting Lebanon to its Arab roots. These visits represent a significant opportunity to strengthen Lebanon-Gulf relations and enhance their collaboration.
In an interview with Lebanon24, political journalist and writer Asaad Bashara emphasized that President Aoun's Gulf visits were not only traditional diplomatic activities but held strategic dimensions, aiming to restore the severed connections between Lebanon and the Arab world. He pointed out that positive results quickly followed, particularly from the UAE, which made significant decisions, such as allowing UAE nationals to return to Lebanon, a crucial step in enhancing economic relations.
Bashara also highlighted that Aoun's recent visit to Kuwait falls within this framework, reflecting a genuine effort to rebuild trust between Lebanon and the Gulf nations, with the goal of improving bilateral relations.
However, Bashara expressed disappointment over the attempts to disrupt these efforts by the resistance axis, particularly Hezbollah, which launched a media campaign against the UAE immediately after Aoun's visit. He believes that the purpose of these campaigns is to undermine the president's efforts and prevent the return of Arab influence to Lebanon.
Bashara praised the Lebanese presidency's response, which issued a statement urging media outlets to avoid targeting friendly countries, reiterating its commitment to Lebanon-Arab relations. However, Bashara argued that while the response was necessary, it was insufficient, and further steps were needed to cement the Arab opening to Lebanon, utilizing it politically and economically.
Regarding Sheikh Naim Qassem's speech, the Hezbollah Secretary-General, who welcomed the return of Arab nations to Lebanon, Bashara noted: “While his words were theoretically welcoming, they contradicted Hezbollah's political and media approach towards the Arab world over the years.”
