الجيش اللبناني يوضح تفاصيل التدخل على طريق المطار بعد التعدي على العناصر العسكرية
أصدرت قيادة الجيش اللبناني – مديرية التوجيه بيانًا توضيحيًا بشأن ما جرى خلال الاعتصام الذي نظمه حزب الله على طريق مطار رفيق الحريري الدولي، مؤكدة أنه تم التنسيق مسبقًا مع منظمي الاعتصام لضمان التعبير السلمي عن الرأي وعدم قطع الطريق.
وأشار البيان إلى أن بعض المحتجين أقدموا على إغلاق الطريق والتعرض لعناصر الجيش والاعتداء على آلياته، مما أسفر عن إصابة 23 عسكريًا بينهم 3 ضباط بجروح متفاوتة. وأكد الجيش أنه اضطر إلى التدخل لمنع الاعتداءات وفتح الطريق، تنفيذًا لقرار السلطة السياسية لمنع إغلاق الطرق وحماية الأملاك العامة والخاصة، إضافة إلى ضمان سير المرافق العامة وأمن المسافرين.
وكان حزب الله قد دعا إلى اعتصام سلمي على طريق المطار القديم احتجاجًا على “التدخل الإسرائيلي وانتهاك السيادة الوطنية”. واستجاب العشرات للدعوة، متجمعين عند جسر الكوكودي حاملين أعلام حزب الله وصور الأمين العام السابق للحزب، الشهيد السيد حسن نصر الله.
وأثناء التدخل الأمني لفتح الطريق، استخدم الجيش اللبناني قنابل مسيلة للدموع لتفريق المتظاهرين، ما أدى إلى وقوع إصابات وحالات إغماء بين المعتصمين، وانتهى الاعتصام بعد نحو ساعة من بدئه.
Lebanese Army Clarifies Intervention on Airport Road After Assault on Soldiers
The Lebanese Army's Directorate of Guidance issued a statement clarifying the events that occurred during a Hezbollah-organized protest on Rafic Hariri International Airport Road. The army confirmed prior coordination with the protest organizers to ensure a peaceful demonstration without blocking the road.
However, the statement noted that some protesters later proceeded to block the road, attacked military personnel, and vandalized army vehicles, resulting in injuries to 23 soldiers, including three officers. The army stated that it was forced to intervene to prevent further assaults and reopen the road in compliance with government directives aimed at preventing road closures, protecting public and private property, and ensuring public safety, particularly for airport travelers.
Hezbollah had called for the protest to denounce “Israeli interference and violations of national sovereignty.” Dozens of protesters gathered at the Kokodi Bridge on the old airport road, waving Hezbollah flags and holding up images of the party's former Secretary-General, the late Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
During efforts to disperse the demonstration, the Lebanese Army deployed tear gas, leading to multiple injuries and cases of fainting among the protesters. The protest concluded approximately an hour after it began.
