باسيل في خطاب وطني: الانتشار هو هوية لبنان وحصانته الاقتصادية – ولن نسمح بتقزيم الوطن
في كلمة ألقاها خلال عشاء أقامه قطاع الانتشار في التيار الوطني الحر، أطلق رئيس التيار جبران باسيل مواقف لافتة تناولت أهمية الانتشار اللبناني عالميًا، ورفض أي محاولة للمساس بوحدة لبنان الجغرافية والسيادية.
🌍 الانتشار اللبناني “إمبراطورية لا تغيب عنها الشمس”
شدّد باسيل على أن اللبنانيين المنتشرين في الخارج حوّلوا معاناتهم من الغربة إلى قصص نجاح عالمية، ما جعل من الانتشار “إمبراطورية لا تغيب عنها الشمس”، تُرفع من خلالها راية لبنان في القارات الخمس.
💵 رئة لبنان الاقتصادية:
واعتبر أن الدور الذي يؤديه المنتشرون بات أوضح من أي وقت مضى، خصوصًا في ظل الأزمات الاقتصادية، مؤكدًا أن “لا حياة للبنان من دون الانتشار”.
🛂 دبلوماسية اغترابية ثلاثية الأبعاد:
قال باسيل إن التيار الوطني الحر، خلال فترة توليه المسؤولية، اعتمد على ثلاث ركائز في الدبلوماسية الاغترابية:

التواصل المستمر مع المنتشرين عبر المؤتمرات والمبادرات.

استعادة الجنسية اللبنانية للمغتربين.

التصدي لمحاولات تهميش الانتشار سياسيًا واقتصاديًا.
وأشار إلى أن قانون استعادة الجنسية تم تعطيله عبر الامتناع عن توقيع المراسيم، رغم أنه يُمثل حقًا طبيعيًا لكل لبناني مهاجر.
🗳️ المعركة الاستراتيجية لا تكتيكية:
علّق باسيل على “معركة النواب الستة المغتربين”، قائلًا إن الربح والخسارة لا يُهمان، بل الأهم هو خوض المعركة انطلاقًا من استراتيجية متكاملة، وليس من تكتيك ظرفي.

في ختام خطابه، أطلق باسيل رسالة حادة قائلاً:
“العالم لا يتّسع للبنان بانتشاره، فهل تريدونه أصغر من 10452 كلم²؟”

Speaking at a dinner hosted by the Free Patriotic Movement’s Diaspora Affairs Division, party leader Gebran Bassil praised the Lebanese diaspora as a global force shaping Lebanon’s image worldwide, and delivered strong messages against any attempt to minimize the country’s geographic or political stature.
🌎 “A Sunless Empire Built by the Diaspora”
Bassil highlighted how millions of Lebanese living abroad have transformed exile into success stories, creating what he called “an empire where the sun never sets,” lifting Lebanon’s name across continents.
💰 “No Lebanon Without Its Diaspora”
He reaffirmed that the diaspora is Lebanon’s economic lung, and its support is vital during times of financial collapse, inflation, and social crises.
🛂 A 3-Pillar Foreign Policy:
Bassil emphasized that under his leadership, the FPM adopted a threefold expat policy:

Maintaining close ties with expatriates through forums and initiatives.

Restoring Lebanese citizenship to those eligible.

Resisting policies that marginalize diaspora influence.
However, he criticized current authorities for blocking the citizenship law by withholding decree signatures, while “encouraging non-Lebanese to stay and the original Lebanese to leave.”
⚖️ Electoral Battles Are Strategic:
Commenting on the “six expat MPs” issue, Bassil said winning or losing wasn’t the point, but rather defending long-term national strategy against opportunistic tactics.
🗺️ Lebanon Is Not Up for Reduction:
He concluded with a defiant message:
“The world can barely contain Lebanon through its diaspora, so why reduce it below 10,452 km²?”
Bassil reaffirmed that the Lebanese diaspora must be fully integrated into national life via voting rights, investment channels, and developmental partnerships.
