وعلى الرغم من الدعم الكبير لفكرة إجراء الانتخابات من قبل الأغلبية في القيادة، يتصرف الشيخ نعيم قاسم بحذر، مع الحفاظ على توازن كبير بين رؤيتين متناقضتين. إذ يؤكد أنه لا يعارض الانتخابات، لكن أولويته تبقى الحفاظ على وحدة الحزب في ظل الأوضاع الحالية. كما يذكر أن رئيس المجلس السياسي، إبراهيم أمين السيد، يواجه اتهامات بمغادرة لبنان أثناء الحرب، مما قد يعرقل فرصه في الانتخابات المقبلة.
