Job Description:

The Field Officer at Solidarités International will coordinate and implement humanitarian activities in South Lebanon. This role involves liaising with local authorities, overseeing distribution activities, collecting community-level data, and ensuring adherence to humanitarian principles during project implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Coordination with Authorities:

• Communicate with municipalities, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) focal points, and the Lebanese Red Cross to monitor the humanitarian situation in the area.
• Collaborate with authorities to organize SI’s activities.

2. Monitoring Humanitarian Activities:

• Collect accurate community-level data and conduct assessments to identify needs.
• Carry out rapid or regular needs assessments through forms, key informant meetings, or focus group discussions.

3. Implementation of Activities:

• Ensure proper reception, storage, and security of items to be distributed to beneficiaries.
• Organize and coordinate the distribution process with local authorities.
• Participate in logistical and administrative preparation for distributions.

4. Community Engagement:

• Build and maintain positive relationships with beneficiaries.
• Provide information to beneficiaries and stakeholders about SI’s mission and activities.

5. Reporting:

• Maintain and archive monitoring tools and activity files.
• Report daily on the progress of activities, challenges, and beneficiary relations.
• Share relevant information about security, logistics, or administration with supervisors.

6. Driving SI Vehicles (if required):

• Adhere to driving policies set by the logistics department when using SI vehicles.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in humanitarian work or similar roles.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Fluent in both Arabic and English (written and spoken).
• Ability to work in insecure environments and under pressure.
• Familiarity with South Lebanon communities is an advantage.
