Job Description:

The Food Security and Livelihoods Assistant will support the establishment of food security and livelihoods systems. The role includes ensuring that humanitarian needs are continually identified and addressed by the team. The assistant will be responsible for daily/weekly reports and tasks related to the distribution of non-food items (NFIs), food items (FIs), cash distributions, outreach activities, assessments, verification, and post-distribution monitoring (PDM).

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the usual job profile and adapt working hours accordingly.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Activity Reporting:

• Provide daily and weekly reports on the progress of food security and livelihoods activities and interventions.

2. Field Activities Implementation:

• Participate in field distributions, including food and non-food item distributions, and cash disbursements.
• Organize outreach activities, training, and sensitization sessions for communities and beneficiaries.

3. Assessments and Follow-up:

• Conduct field assessments to identify community needs and document progress.
• Perform post-distribution monitoring (PDM) to evaluate the effectiveness of activities and implement necessary adjustments.

4. Emergency Food Security and Livelihoods Projects:

• Support in food security and livelihoods interventions in emergencies.
• Contribute to the implementation of livelihood sustainability training and related community activities.

5. Work in Insecure Environments:

• Be flexible and ready to adapt to emergency changes in work conditions and schedules.

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Economic Development, Social Sciences, or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in development programs, preferably in food security and livelihoods.
• Strong computer skills, especially in Excel.
• Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work in insecure environments and be flexible with working hours.
• Familiarity with refugee communities in Lebanon is a plus.
