أفاد موقع “961” اللبناني أن العمل جارٍ رسميًا على إطلاق خط عبّارات بين لبنان وقبرص، وفي حال سارت الأمور وفقًا للخطة، سيكون بإمكان اللبنانيين قريبًا السفر مباشرة من جونية إلى لارنكا عبر العبّارة في حوالي أربع ساعات فقط. وأكد وزير النقل القبرصي أليكسيس فافيديس لصحيفة “سايبريس ميل” القبرصية أن مجموعة من المستثمرين اقترحت إطلاق هذا الخط البحري لنقل الركاب، وهو ما سيعزز خيارات السفر للسياح الراغبين في استكشاف قبرص عبر البحر.
وبحسب الموقع، فإن مجموعة “Indevco” اللبنانية هي التي تقود الجهود لتحقيق هذا المشروع، حيث تخطط لإطلاق شركة مقرها قبرص وبدء تشغيل سفينة قادرة على حمل ما يصل إلى 200 راكب. هذا المشروع سيعطي خيارًا مريحًا وسهلاً للوصول إلى قبرص عبر البحر، خاصةً في ظل غياب طرق مباشرة سوى السفر جويًا أو بواسطة قارب خاص.
من المتوقع أن تتراوح أسعار التذاكر ما بين 100 إلى 200 دولار، حسب الموسم والطلب، مما يعني أنها ستكون أرخص بنسبة تتراوح بين 20% إلى 30% من السفر جواً. وبالتالي، فإن هذا الطريق قد يصبح الخيار المفضل للبنانيين، ليس فقط لزيارة قبرص، بل أيضًا للسفر إلى أوروبا بأسعار منخفضة عبر رحلات جوية أرخص من قبرص.
كما أضاف الموقع أن الحكومة القبرصية تدعم هذا المشروع بشكل كامل، بالإضافة إلى الدعم من الحكومة اللبنانية، إلا أن هناك بعض التحسينات التي يجب إجراؤها على البنية التحتية. وأكد مستشار وزير الأشغال العامة، رشاد زعيتر، أن ميناء جونيه يخضع حاليًا لتقييمات تتعلق بالأمن ومراقبة الحدود وتحسين البنية التحتية. مع الإشارة إلى أن الزوار اللبنانيين سيحتاجون إلى تأشيرة شنغن لدخول قبرص. إذا سارت الأمور وفقًا للخطة، من المتوقع أن يبدأ المشروع في أوائل صيف 2025.
Soon: Will Lebanese Travelers be Able to Reach Cyprus from Jounieh by Ferry?
According to “961” Lebanese website, efforts are underway to officially establish a ferry line between Lebanon and Cyprus. If all goes according to plan, Lebanese citizens will soon be able to travel directly from Jounieh to Larnaca by ferry in just about four hours. Cyprus’ Minister of Transport, Alexis Vafeidis, confirmed to “Cyprus Mail” that a group of investors has proposed the launch of passenger ferries, which will enhance travel options for tourists looking to explore Cyprus by sea.
According to the website, the Lebanese group “Indevco” is leading the efforts to make this happen. The group plans to launch a company based in Cyprus and begin operating a ferry that can carry up to 200 passengers. This new route will provide a convenient and comfortable way to access Cyprus by sea, especially since the only current options are flying or traveling by private boat.
Initial reports suggest that ticket prices may range from $100 to $200, depending on the season and demand, making this option 20% to 30% cheaper than flying. This could make ferry travel a preferred choice for Lebanese, not just to visit Cyprus, but also to travel to Europe via cheaper flights from Cyprus.
The Cypriot government fully supports this idea, as does Lebanon. However, there are still some improvements needed, especially regarding infrastructure. Rashad Zaiter, the advisor to the Minister of Public Works, confirmed that the Jounieh port is undergoing evaluations related to security, border monitoring, and infrastructure improvements. It is also noted that Lebanese visitors will still need a valid Schengen visa to enter Cyprus. If all goes as planned, the project is expected to launch by early summer 2025.
