أصدر المكتب العمالي المركزي في حركة “أمل” بيانًا استنكر فيه قرار الحكومة اللبنانية فرض ضريبة إضافية على المشتقات النفطية، مشيرًا إلى أن القرار جاء في ظل ظروف اجتماعية واقتصادية مأساوية يمر بها اللبنانيون، وبذريعة تمويل عطاءات العسكريين، بينما المطلوب هو تصحيح عادل وفعلي لرواتب العسكريين في الخدمة والمتقاعدين.
وأضاف البيان أن الحكومة التي كانت ترفض سابقًا منح العمال بدل غلاء معيشة بحجة رفع الأسعار، عادت لتفرض ضريبة تثقل كاهل المواطنين وتتعارض مع القواعد الضريبية والإنسانية الأساسية، مما أدى إلى تحميل اللبنانيين أعباء مالية تقدر بملايين الدولارات دون دراسات فعالة حول تداعيات القرار.
وحذّر المكتب العمالي من أن هذا القرار سيؤدي إلى انعكاسات سلبية في الحياة اليومية، من ارتفاع أسعار السلع والخدمات، مرورًا بتكاليف النقل وفواتير المولدات الكهربائية، وصولًا إلى تراجع القدرة الشرائية للمواطنين.
وأكد البيان على أن تحسين وضع الإدارة العامة وتوفير حوافز مناسبة للعاملين في القطاع العام سيزيد من فعالية الجباية والإيرادات الضريبية بشكل طبيعي، بدلاً من اللجوء إلى قرارات عشوائية تستفيد منها فئات المستوردين والتجار، بينما يتحمل المواطن ثمنها.
وختم البيان بالدعوة إلى التراجع الفوري عن القرار، والسير في مسار تصحيح عادل لرواتب العسكريين والمتقاعدين والعاملين في القطاع العام، لتحقيق العدالة الاجتماعية وتعزيز إيرادات الدولة دون إثقال كاهل الفقراء.
“Amal Movement Condemns Additional Fuel Tax Imposition, Warning of Severe Economic and Social Impacts”
The Central Labor Office of the Amal Movement issued a statement condemning the Lebanese government’s decision to impose an additional tax on petroleum derivatives, highlighting the dire social and economic conditions faced by Lebanese citizens. The tax was justified as funding military personnel benefits, while the real need is for a fair and effective adjustment of salaries for active and retired military personnel.
The statement added that the government, which previously refused to grant workers a cost-of-living allowance fearing price hikes, has now imposed a tax burdening citizens, contradicting basic tax and humanitarian principles, resulting in millions of dollars in financial strain on Lebanese people without effective studies on the repercussions.
The labor office warned that this decision will have adverse effects on daily life, including increased prices of goods and services, rising transportation costs, higher generator electricity bills, and a decline in purchasing power.
The statement emphasized that improving public administration and providing proper incentives for public sector employees would naturally enhance tax collection efficiency and increase revenues, instead of resorting to arbitrary decisions benefiting importers and traders while ordinary citizens bear the cost.
The statement concluded with a call for the immediate repeal of the tax, pursuing a just correction of salaries for military personnel, retirees, and all public sector workers to achieve social justice and strengthen state revenues without overburdening the poor.
