استقبل رئيس الحكومة اللبنانية نواف سلام وفدًا من نادي النجمة الرياضي برئاسة رئيس النادي مازن الزعني، يرافقه أعضاء الهيئة الإدارية، حيث قدّم الوفد اعتذاره للرئيس سلام عمّا صدر من إساءات من إحدى مجموعات جمهور النادي خلال إعادة افتتاح الأنشطة في مدينة كميل شمعون الرياضية في بيروت.
شدد الرئيس سلام خلال اللقاء على أهمية الرياضة كركيزة أساسية في بناء المجتمع وتعزيز روح المواطنة، مؤكدًا أن الرياضة يجب أن تظل بعيدة عن التسييس والانقسامات، وأن تكون مساحة للتلاقي والوحدة لا للتجاذبات والمصالح الفئوية. وأبرز دور الأندية الرياضية في ترسيخ القيم الإنسانية والوطنية، داعيًا إلى دعم الرياضة اللبنانية بمختلف أشكالها.
وفي إطار منفصل، استقبل الرئيس سلام وفدًا من الجمعية المصرية – اللبنانية لرجال الأعمال، برئاسة فتح الله فوزي، حيث تم مناقشة سبل تعزيز العلاقات الاقتصادية بين لبنان ومصر وتفعيل اللجنة العليا المشتركة لتعزيز التعاون الثنائي في القطاعات المختلفة.
وأشاد الرئيس سلام بالعلاقات العميقة التي تجمع البلدين، مؤكدًا أن الحكومة تعمل على خلق مناخ استثماري ملائم من خلال تعزيز الاستقرار الأمني، وترسيخ استقلال القضاء، وإعادة هيكلة القطاع المصرفي، داعيًا إلى شراكة فاعلة مع القطاع الخاص لتحريك عجلة الاقتصاد وخلق فرص عمل.
من جانبه، أكد الوفد المصري اللبناني استعداد الجمعية لدعم الاقتصاد اللبناني وتبادل الخبرات بين رجال الأعمال في البلدين الشقيقين.
“Al-Najma Club Delegation Apologizes to Prime Minister Nawaf Salam Following Sports Event Incident; Lebanon-Egypt Economic Cooperation Strengthened”
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam received a delegation from Al-Najma Sports Club, headed by club president Mazen Al-Zeani and accompanied by administrative members, who extended their apologies for offensive chants from a segment of the club’s fans during the reopening of activities at Camille Chamoun Sports City in Beirut.
During the meeting, PM Salam emphasized the vital role of sports as a pillar for social development and fostering citizenship spirit, underscoring that sports must remain free from politicization and divisions, serving as a platform for unity rather than factional conflicts. He highlighted the important role of sports clubs in instilling humanitarian and national values and called for comprehensive support to Lebanese sports.
Separately, PM Salam met with a delegation from the Egyptian-Lebanese Businessmen Association, chaired by Fathallah Fawzi, discussing ways to enhance economic relations between Lebanon and Egypt and activate the joint higher committee to promote bilateral cooperation across various sectors.
PM Salam praised the deep ties between the two nations, affirming the government’s efforts to create a favorable investment climate by strengthening security stability, reinforcing judicial independence, and restructuring the banking sector. He called for effective partnership with the private sector to boost the economy and generate employment opportunities.
The Egyptian-Lebanese delegation affirmed the association’s readiness to support Lebanon’s economy and facilitate the exchange of expertise between businessmen from the two sister countries.
