تحدث رئيس الوزراء اللبناني نواف سلام في مقابلة عبر قناة “سي إن إن” اليوم الخميس، عن الصراع المستمر بين لبنان وإسرائيل، مسألة نزع سلاح حزب الله، والمسار المحتمل نحو التطبيع.
أوضح سلام أن لبنان قد أضاع فرصاً عديدة، بداية بعدم تنفيذ الاتفاقية التي أنهت الحرب الأهلية بشكل كامل، ثم الفرصة التي أُتيحت مع انسحاب الجيش الإسرائيلي عام 2000 يليه انسحاب القوات السورية، مؤكداً أن الحكومة الحالية مصممة على عدم إضاعة الفرصة المتاحة الآن.
وأشار إلى أن جدول أعمال الحكومة يرتكز على مبدأين أساسيين: استعادة سيادة لبنان على كامل أراضيه ومنافذه، والالتزام بالإصلاحات الهيكلية اللازمة في القطاعين المالي والإداري.
وأكد سلام أن هدف الحكومة هو احتكار الدولة للسلاح في جميع الأراضي اللبنانية، مشيداً بما تحقق شمال نهر الليطاني من تفكيك أكثر من 500 موقع عسكري لحزب الله، مع توسعة وتعزيز سيطرة الجيش اللبناني جنوب الليطاني.
وتحدث سلام عن تقدم ملحوظ على الحدود مع سوريا، وزيادة السيطرة عليها، مضيفاً أن خطة تسليم السلاح الفلسطيني التي تم الاتفاق عليها مع الرئيس محمود عباس خلال زيارته الأخيرة لبيروت تُعد خطوة مهمة، وينتظر بدء تنفيذها في المخيمات المحيطة بالعاصمة.
كما أشار إلى دور الإدارة الأميركية في الضغط على إسرائيل للالتزام باتفاق وقف الأعمال العدائية (تفاهم تشرين الثاني)، الذي توسطت فيه واشنطن، مع وجود آلية إشراف فرنسية وأميركية على الأرض، مؤكداً أن لبنان يلتزم بتعهداته بينما إسرائيل لم تفِ بالتزاماتها.
“Nawaf Salam Announces Dismantling of Over 500 Hezbollah Sites North of Litani River and Reaffirms Lebanon’s Sovereignty”
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam spoke in an interview with CNN on Thursday about the ongoing conflict between Lebanon and Israel, Hezbollah’s disarmament, and the potential path toward normalization.
Salam stated that Lebanon missed several key opportunities, beginning with the failure to fully implement the agreement that ended the civil war, followed by missed chances after the Israeli army’s withdrawal in 2000 and subsequent Syrian withdrawal. He emphasized that the current government is determined not to waste the opportunity ahead.
He outlined that the government’s agenda is based on two fundamental principles: restoring Lebanon’s sovereignty over all its territories and ports, and committing to structural reforms in both financial and administrative sectors.
Salam affirmed that the government aims to ensure the state’s monopoly on weapons throughout Lebanon, praising the significant achievement north of the Litani River where over 500 Hezbollah military sites were dismantled, and highlighting the Lebanese army’s expanding and strengthening control south of the Litani.
He also noted considerable progress along the Syrian border with increased control, and mentioned the arms handover plan agreed upon with President Mahmoud Abbas during his recent visit to Beirut as a vital step, anticipating its implementation in camps surrounding the capital.
Regarding the role of the U.S. administration, Salam called for increased pressure on Israel to comply with the November ceasefire understanding brokered by Washington, mentioning the French-American supervision mechanism on the ground. He affirmed Lebanon’s commitment to its obligations while stating Israel has failed to fulfill its commitments.
