تحوّل حفل زفاف مفعم بالفرح والاحتفال في بلدة بوداي – غربي بعلبك، إلى مأتم مضرّج بالدماء إثر حادثة إطلاق نار مروعة، تعكس مأساة تفلّت السلاح الذي لم يعد “زينة الرجال”، بل أصبح أداة قاتلة تخطف الأرواح.
وبحسب التفاصيل التي نقلها مراسل “ليبانون ديبايت”، فإن المشهد المأساوي بدأ أثناء مشاركة “ح. مشيك” العروس في الرقص، حيث تدخل العريس “ع. س. زعيتر” معترضًا، مما أدى إلى مشادة كلامية حادة بينهما، لا سيما مع وجود خلافات سابقة بين الرجلين، واعتبر العريس تصرف العروس استفزازًا شخصيًا له.
لم تقتصر المشادة على التلاسن فقط، بل تصاعدت سريعًا إلى إطلاق نار من قبل “ح. مشيك” على “ع. س. زعيتر”، ما تسبب في مقتله على الفور. وردًا على ذلك، قام أحد أبناء عشيرة زعيتر بإطلاق النار على القاتل، مما أدى إلى مقتله أيضًا.
ولم تقتصر المأساة على القتيلين فقط، إذ أصيب عدد من الحاضرين نتيجة الرصاص المتطاير، حيث تم نقل جريحين إلى المستشفيات لتلقي العلاج. كما نُقلت جثتي القتيلين إلى مستشفيي الحكمة ودار الأمل في بعلبك.
وسرعان ما تدخل الجيش اللبناني، الذي قام بتطويق المستشفيات التي استقبلت الجرحى، وشرع في ملاحقة المتورطين في إطلاق النار، في محاولة لاحتواء تداعيات الحادث وفرض الأمن في المنطقة.

A joyful wedding celebration in the town of Boudai, west of Baalbek, turned into a blood-soaked tragedy following a devastating shooting incident, highlighting the grim consequences of rampant gun violence that has shifted from being a “man’s adornment” to a deadly weapon claiming lives.
According to details reported by Lebanon Debate’s correspondent, the tragic event unfolded during the bride’s dance when “H. Mishik” was dancing, and the groom “A. S. Zaiter” interrupted her, leading to a heated verbal dispute, especially given previous conflicts between the two men. The groom considered the bride’s action a personal provocation.
The confrontation quickly escalated beyond words as “H. Mishik” opened fire on “A. S. Zaiter,” killing him instantly. In retaliation, a member of the Zaiter clan fired back, killing the shooter as well.
The tragedy did not stop with the two fatalities, as several attendees were wounded by stray bullets. Two injured individuals were transported to hospitals for treatment. The bodies of the deceased were taken to Al-Hikmeh and Dar Al-Amal hospitals in Baalbek.
The Lebanese army promptly intervened, cordoning off the hospitals that received the wounded and initiating a manhunt for those involved in the shooting, aiming to contain the fallout and restore security in the area.
