أصدر الجيش اللبناني – مديرية التوجيه، بيانًا رسميًا اليوم الجمعة 24 أيار 2025، أكد فيه استمرار وحدات الجيش المنتشرة في محافظتي لبنان الجنوبي والنبطية بتنفيذ التدابير الأمنية الاستثنائية التي أُعلن عنها سابقًا، تزامنًا مع إجراء المرحلة الرابعة من الانتخابات البلدية والاختيارية.
وأوضح البيان أن الوحدات العسكرية تواصل تسيير الدوريات وإقامة الحواجز الثابتة ونقاط المراقبة حول مراكز الاقتراع، ضمن مهمة حفظ الأمن ومنع وقوع أعمال شغب أو أي إخلال بالنظام العام خلال العملية الانتخابية.
ودعت قيادة الجيش المواطنين إلى التعاون الكامل مع هذه الإجراءات، مؤكدة أن الهدف منها تسهيل سير العملية الانتخابية في أجواء هادئة وآمنة.
وفي ظل التوترات المتزايدة في بعض المناطق الحدودية، لا سيما جنوب لبنان، حذرت القيادة العسكرية من إطلاق النار تحت أي ذريعة، معتبرة أن مثل هذه التصرفات تهدد حياة المواطنين في هذه المرحلة الحساسة التي تمر بها البلاد.
وذكرت قيادة الجيش بقرار تجميد مفعول كافة تراخيص حمل الأسلحة في المحافظتين حتى تاريخ 26 أيار 2025، مشددة على أن أي مخالفة ستواجه بإجراءات قانونية صارمة.
يأتي هذا البيان استكمالًا لتوجيهات سابقة صدرت في 22 أيار، حيث رفعت قيادة الجيش من مستوى الإجراءات الأمنية تحضيرًا للمرحلة الانتخابية، في ظل حرص رسمي على المحافظة على المناخ الأمني المستقر ومنع استغلال الأوضاع السياسية أو الأمنية خلال الانتخابات.
Lebanese Army Intensifies Security Measures in South and Nabatieh Ahead of Elections, Warns Against Gunfire
The Lebanese Army – Directorate of Orientation issued an official statement today, Friday, May 24, 2025, confirming that army units deployed in the South Lebanon and Nabatieh governorates continue to enforce exceptional security measures previously announced, in conjunction with the fourth phase of the municipal and local elections.
The statement detailed that military units persist in patrolling, setting up fixed checkpoints, and monitoring polling stations as part of their mission to maintain security and prevent any disorder or disturbances during the electoral process.
The army command called on citizens to fully cooperate with these measures, emphasizing that the goal is to facilitate the smooth conduct of elections in a calm and secure environment.
Amid rising tensions in some border areas, especially in South Lebanon, the military warned against any gunfire under any pretext, considering such acts a threat to citizens' lives during this sensitive period the country is undergoing.
The army also reminded the public about the suspension of all firearm licenses in the two governorates until May 26, 2025, stressing that any violations will be met with strict legal action.
This statement follows prior directives issued on May 22, when the army raised security levels in preparation for this electoral phase, underscoring official efforts to maintain a stable security climate and prevent any political or security exploitation during the elections.
