رئيس الجمهورية اللبنانية ينعى البابا فرنسيس: “نصير الفقراء ورمز العدالة والسلام”
نعى رئيس الجمهورية اللبنانية، جوزاف عون، اليوم الإثنين، البابا فرنسيس الذي وافته المنية، مشيراً إلى أن “خسارة البابا فرنسيس هي خسارة للبشرية جمعاء، فقد كان صوتًا قويًا للعدالة والسلام، وكان نصيرًا حقيقيًا للفقراء والمهمشين في جميع أنحاء العالم.” كما أضاف رئيس الجمهورية: “كان البابا فرنسيس دائمًا مدافعًا عن الحوار بين الأديان والثقافات، وكان يحمل في قلبه لبنان وشعبه، داعيًا العالم دائمًا للوقوف بجانب لبنان في محنته.”
واستذكر الرئيس عون بكل احترام المواقف الإنسانية النبيلة التي قدمها البابا الراحل، مؤكدًا أن لبنان قد فقد صديقًا عزيزًا وأبًا روحيًا كان يشع بالسلام والمحبة في كل كلامه وأفعاله. وقال: “لطالما حمل البابا فرنسيس لبنان في قلبه، ولن ننسى دعواته المستمرة للحفاظ على هوية لبنان وتنوعه.”
وفي ختام تصريحاته، تقدم رئيس الجمهورية اللبنانية بأحر التعازي والمواساة للكرسي الرسولي المقدس، وللأخوة المؤمنين في الكنيسة الكاثوليكية في جميع أنحاء العالم، مؤكدًا أن لبنان سيظل مستمرًا في تعزيز قيم الحوار والتسامح على خطى البابا الراحل.
Lebanese President Pays Tribute to Pope Francis: “A Champion for the Poor and a Symbol of Justice and Peace”
On Monday, Lebanese President Michel Aoun mourned the passing of Pope Francis, calling it a loss to all of humanity. He said, “Pope Francis was a strong voice for justice and peace, and a true advocate for the poor and marginalized communities around the world.” He added, “The late Pope was a proponent of interfaith dialogue and always carried Lebanon in his heart, consistently urging the world to support Lebanon in its struggles.”
President Aoun recalled with great respect the noble humanitarian actions of the late Pope, highlighting that Lebanon had lost a dear friend and spiritual leader, whose words and actions embodied peace and love. He noted, “Pope Francis always carried Lebanon in his heart, and we will never forget his calls to preserve Lebanon's identity and its diversity.”
Concluding his statement, President Aoun extended his heartfelt condolences to the Holy See and to all believers in the Catholic Church worldwide, reaffirming that Lebanon will continue to promote the values of dialogue and tolerance in the spirit of the late Pope's teachings.
