أصدر قاضي التحقيق الأول في بيروت، بلال حلاوي، مذكرة توقيف وجاهية بحق كريم سلام، شقيق وزير الاقتصاد السابق أمين سلام، بتهم اختلاس المال العام، والإثراء غير المشروع، وتبييض الأموال، والرشوة، والتزوير.
وحدد القاضي حلاوي جلسة يوم الخميس المقبل، حيث استدعى خلالها كل من فادي تميم، المستشار السابق للوزير، وجورج ماطوسيان، صاحب شركة المشرق للتأمين، والنقيب إيلي عبود، نقيب خبراء المحاسبة، بصفة شهود. وكان القاضي حلاوي قد تسلم قبل الجلسة تقريرًا من هيئة التحقيق الخاصة في مصرف لبنان، يتعلق بحركة حسابات الموقوف كريم سلام، وأيضًا مصدر الأموال التي تم إيداعها في المصارف.

Arrest Warrant Issued Against Brother of Former Minister on Charges of Embezzlement and Money Laundering
Beirut's First Investigative Judge, Bilal Halaoui, has issued a detention warrant against Karim Salam, the brother of former Minister of Economy, Amin Salam, on charges of embezzlement of public funds, illicit enrichment, money laundering, bribery, and forgery.
Judge Halaoui has scheduled a hearing for next Thursday, during which he has summoned Fadi Tamim, the former advisor to the minister, George Matossian, owner of Mashreq Insurance Company, and Elias Aboud, the head of the Lebanese Accountants Association, as witnesses. Prior to the hearing, Judge Halaoui received a report from the Special Investigation Committee at Lebanon's Central Bank concerning the movements in the accounts of the detained Karim Salam and the source of his funds in the banks.
