تزامنت الأحداث الأخيرة في الساحل السوري مع إعلان السلطات اللبنانية عن القبض على مجموعة داعمة لتنظيم داعش في لبنان، وهو ما أثار العديد من التساؤلات والمخاوف حول الوضع الأمني في لبنان واحتمال حدوث انتكاسة أو فتنة. ورغم أن هذين الحدثين لا يرتبطان مباشرة ببعضهما، إلا أن ذلك يثير تساؤلات حول جدية التهديدات الأمنية التي قد تطرأ على البلاد.
وفي هذا الإطار، أكد وزير الداخلية الأسبق مروان شربل في حديثه لـ”ليبانون ديبايت” أنه لا يوجد أي خطر من إقامة ما يُسمى إمارات داعشية في لبنان. وتساءل بشدة: “هل من شك في أن المجموعات الداعشية أضعف من الجيش اللبناني والأجهزة الأمنية والمخابرات؟”، مشيرًا إلى أن الشعب اللبناني نفسه أصبح أكثر حساسية تجاه هذا الموضوع وخطورته.
وأوضح شربل أنه لا يهتم لظهور بعض الأشخاص والمجموعات التي تتحدث بلغة داعشية، موضحًا أن هذه الظاهرة موجودة في العديد من دول العالم بما في ذلك أوروبا، وبالتالي لا يمكن للبنان أن يتحول إلى بيئة حاضنة لداعش.
وتناول شربل التطورات الأخيرة في سوريا، حيث أشار إلى الاتفاق بين الحكومة السورية الجديدة و”قسد”، والذي يعتبره خطوة لتعزيز الأمن في المنطقة، خاصة وأن الاتفاق يتضمن مكافحة الإرهاب. ومع ذلك، توقف عند المجازر التي حدثت في الساحل السوري، معتبرًا أن هناك أخطاء فادحة قد ارتُكبت من جميع الأطراف منذ عام 2011، حيث ازدادت الجرائم الإنسانية في ظل الصراع الطائفي.
وأعرب شربل عن ثقته الكاملة في الأجهزة الأمنية اللبنانية، مشيرًا إلى أنه مطلع على الأنشطة التي تقوم بها هذه الأجهزة في إطار “الأمن الاستباقي”، لافتًا إلى أن هناك العديد من الإنجازات التي لا تُعلن عنها الأجهزة الأمنية.
كما شدد على أن التنسيق مستمر بين المخابرات اللبنانية وأجهزة المخابرات في معظم الدول، وهو ما يساهم في الكشف عن العديد من المخططات التي تهدف إلى زعزعة الأمن في لبنان.
وفيما يتعلق بالجهود الدولية لحماية أمن لبنان، أشار شربل إلى أن تعيين سفير أميركي جديد للبنان من أصل لبناني ورجل اقتصاد رفيع المستوى يعتبر مؤشرًا إيجابيًا، ويُظهر أن الولايات المتحدة الأميركية تولي الوضع الأمني في لبنان اهتمامًا كبيرًا، وتحرص على ضمان عدم تعرضه لأي انتكاسة أمنية، إضافة إلى التركيز على العمل الاقتصادي.

Positive Indicator of U.S. Action… Marwan Charbel Confirms Security Readiness to Prevent ISIS Expansion in Lebanon
Recent events on the Syrian coast coincided with the announcement of the arrest of a pro-ISIS group in Lebanon, raising concerns and fears among the Lebanese people about a possible security setback or even sectarian unrest in Lebanon. Although these two events are not directly related, they have fueled questions about the seriousness of the security threats Lebanon might face.
In this context, former Minister of Interior Marwan Charbel, in an interview with “Lebanon Debate,” stated that there is no danger of the establishment of ISIS so-called “emirates” in Lebanon. He sharply asked, “Is there any doubt that ISIS groups are weaker than the Lebanese army, intelligence agencies, and security forces?” He pointed out that the Lebanese people themselves have become highly sensitive to this issue and its dangers.
Charbel emphasized that he does not pay attention to the emergence of individuals or groups speaking in a “ISIS-like” language, noting that this phenomenon exists in many countries around the world, including Europe. Therefore, Lebanon cannot become a breeding ground for ISIS.
Charbel also commented on recent developments in Syria, particularly the agreement between the new Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). He sees this as a positive step towards enhancing security in the region, especially since the agreement explicitly aims to combat terrorism. However, he paused to reflect on the massacres that occurred on the Syrian coast, considering that fatal mistakes had been made by all parties involved since 2011, especially with the escalation of sectarian conflict, which has increased criminal activity.
Charbel expressed his full confidence in Lebanon's security forces, noting that he is well aware of their operations, particularly in “preemptive security” efforts. He indicated that many of the security achievements are not made public.
He also stressed that coordination between Lebanese intelligence and intelligence agencies in most countries is ongoing, which plays a vital role in uncovering many schemes that could destabilize Lebanon's security.
Regarding international efforts to secure Lebanon’s safety, Charbel pointed out that the appointment of a new U.S. ambassador to Lebanon, of Lebanese descent and a high-ranking economist, is a very positive indicator. It shows that the United States is taking the Lebanese security situation seriously, ensuring it is not at risk of a security setback, and focusing on economic collaboration.
