في ظل استمرار العدوان الإسرائيلي على لبنان وفشل المفاوضات للوصول إلى تسوية لوقف إطلاق النار، التي تستمر لمدة 21 يومًا على الأقل، أشار العميد المتقاعد جورج نادر إلى أن “الجميع كان يتوقع فشل المفاوضات، حيث إن رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو لا يُظهر أي رغبة في التهدئة”.

وفي حديثه مع “ليبانون ديبايت”، أوضح نادر أنه حتى الآن، يبدو أن نتنياهو متفوق في الميدان، ولن يتوقف عن حربه، مشيرًا إلى أن “الوضع الأميركي الحالي لا يمثل الضغط الذي كان موجودًا في السابق”.

كما أشار إلى أن “نتنياهو يمتلك قوة جوية مسيطرة بشكل كبير على الساحة اللبنانية، ولا يوجد من يستطيع ردعه، حيث يستخدم حتى الذكاء الاصطناعي في الطائرات المسيرة، مما يشكل خطرًا بالغًا”.

ورأى أنه “إذا استمر الوضع كما هو، فإن لبنان يتجه نحو تجربة مماثلة لما حدث في غزة، حيث باتت الأمور واضحة”.

وتوقع نادر أن “نشهد أيامًا أكثر سوادًا في المستقبل القريب”، مشيرًا إلى أن “تراجع حدّة الاستهدافات لا يعني نهاية الحرب، لأن بنك الأهداف التالي للعدو لم يكن جاهزًا بعد”.

كما اعتبر نادر أن “حزب الله في موقف صعب، إذ أن أي مقاومة في العالم لم تنجح إلا وكانت مدعومة من دولة كبرى”.
