The Community Worker works with people to support them through difficult times and ensure that vulnerable people are safeguarded from harm. The role is to provide support to enable service users to help themselves maintaining professional relationships with service users, acting as guides and advocates. The community worker is responsible of the Protection Case Management (including assessment for PWSN cases, risk rating and comprehensive tool, action plan, closure…) and Community Support Groups for the cases under CM with the ability to conduct ECA and PCAP assessments and households’ visits. Other administrative tasks follow.
MAJOR DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Activities
- Provides listening and counseling services to persons with specific needs and fill the social file and integrate all related information on the system.
- Responds to emergency cases.
- Refers beneficiaries to relevant service providers when needed.
- Conducts ECA and PCAP assessments and conducts home visits to assess the needs of the HH.
- Conducts field visits depending on the follow-up to be provided to each beneficiary.
- Ensures proper follow up on all actions to be considered for individual cases till achieving desired results.
- Conducts on a monthly basis the interviews with the Case management supervisor and other required duties.
- Reports to the Case management supervisor the critical cases for final approval on the actions to be taken.
- Prepares progress monthly reports on cases of beneficiaries and on activities implemented.
- Updates weekly the beneficiaries list.
- Works occasionally on weekends to attend community events or to organize group activities.
- Works occasionally on weekends or after the working hours for very urgent cases in coordination with the case management supervisor.
- Participates in training, conferences and attend meetings.
- Assess, plan and implement activities in coordination with the line manager.
- Coordinates with other partners/stakeholders in the regions working with Refugees to avoid duplication and provides better services.
- Conducts and organizes community support groups.
- Performs administrative functions.
Generic Duties
- Follow Caritas Lebanon operational policy and procedures
- Respect the internal policies and procedures for example: dress code, attendance, discipline, etc.
- Complete schedules, activity planners, monitor staff availability and act against any shortfalls
- Resolve any staff issues and escalate any unresolved issue to the related manager
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
JOB KNOWLEDGE
Academic:
- Bachelor Degree in Social Work
Other Qualifications:
- Communication, writing, analytical and negotiation skills
Additional Training:
- Any opportunity work related
Related Work Experience:
- 2 to 3 years of experience in related field
Language skills:
- English and Arabic
Computer Literacy:
- MS-Word / MS-Excel – Intermediate level
