سلام: قرار السلم والحرب بيد الدولة اللبنانية، لا طهران ولا واشنطن
الجمعة، 16 أغسطس 2025 – أكد رئيس الحكومة اللبنانية نواف سلام في مقابلة مع صحيفة الشرق الأوسط أن قرار السلم والحرب في لبنان يُتخذ في بيروت، في مجلس الوزراء، وليس في أي مكان آخر، مشددًا على أن لبنان ليس تابعًا لأي طرف، سواء كانت طهران أو واشنطن، في تحديد خياراته السياسية.
سلام يوضح
وأشار سلام إلى أن زمن الهيمنة الإيرانية على أربع عواصم عربية قد انتهى، مؤكدًا أن قرار الحرب والسلم في لبنان بات بيد الدولة اللبنانية، وأنه لم يعد من صلاحيات “حزب الله”. ورغم تأكيده على حق مناصري حزب الله في التظاهر رفضًا لقرار الحكومة في حصر السلاح بيد الدولة، شدد على ضرورة عدم إغلاق الطرقات الرئيسية، بما في ذلك طريق مطار بيروت أو أي طريق أساسية أخرى.
فتح صفحة جديدة مع سوريا
وفي سياق آخر، تحدث سلام عن زيارته الأخيرة إلى دمشق ولقائه مع الرئيس السوري أحمد الشرع، قائلاً: “نحن على استعداد لفتح صفحة جديدة في العلاقات بين لبنان وسوريا، تكون قائمة على الاحترام المتبادل وعدم تدخل أي طرف في شؤون الآخر“. وأضاف أنه لا بد من إعادة النظر في الاتفاقات غير المتكافئة التي فُرضت على لبنان منذ زمن الوصاية السورية.
العلاقات اللبنانية السعودية
كما أكد سلام تمسكه بعلاقات لبنان مع المملكة العربية السعودية، واصفًا الرياض بأنها لاعب عربي وإسلامي ودولي كبير. وأكد حرصه الشديد على العلاقة مع المملكة، قائلاً: “نسعى إلى دعم أكبر من المملكة ونأمل أن نتمكن قريبًا، إن شاء الله، من رفع حظر سفر الرعايا السعوديين إلى لبنان“.
Salam: Lebanon’s Decision on War and Peace is Solely in the State’s Hands, Not Tehran or Washington
Friday, August 16, 2025 – Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam emphasized in an interview with Asharq Al-Awsat that Lebanon's decision on war and peace is made in Beirut, in the Cabinet, and not anywhere else. He stressed that Lebanon’s choices are not dictated by Tehran or Washington.
Salam Clarifies
Salam further pointed out that the era of Iranian dominance over four Arab capitals has ended, confirming that the decision on war and peace is now solely in the hands of the Lebanese state, not Hezbollah. While acknowledging the right of Hezbollah supporters to protest the government’s decision to restrict weapons to the state, he emphasized that it is crucial to avoid blocking main roads, including the Beirut Airport Road or any other key routes.
A New Chapter with Syria
Salam also discussed his recent visit to Damascus, where he met with Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara. He stated, “We are ready to open a new chapter in Lebanese-Syrian relations based on mutual respect and non-interference in each other’s internal affairs.” He also noted that there are unequal agreements imposed on Lebanon since the time of Syrian hegemony that need to be revisited.
Lebanese-Saudi Relations
Salam affirmed Lebanon's strong ties with Saudi Arabia, describing Riyadh as a major Arab, Islamic, and international player. He added, “We are very committed to this relationship and are working towards greater support from the Kingdom. We hope to soon, God willing, lift the Saudi travel ban on Lebanon.”
