وداعاً زياد الرحباني… شاعر الناس العاديين وصوت “بلا ولا شي”

في عالمٍ يُغرقنا بالضجيج، كان زياد الرحباني صوتاً يشبهنا… يصرخ حيث نخجل، يسخر حيث نحزن، ويُحب “بلا ولا شي”.

ها هو اليوم يترجّل عن خشبة الوطن، تاركاً وراءه حوارات غاضبة، موسيقى متعبة كأرواحنا، وشعراً لا يُلقيه أحد سواه. زياد لم يكن فناناً عادياً، بل كان ظاهرة ـ صدامية أحياناً، حنونة في العمق، ومباشرة بشكل يربك حتى أكثر العقول ترتيباً.

وحده زياد استطاع أن يجعل من المقهى مسرحًا، ومن الشرفة رواية، ومن جلسة في “الفي” فلسفة كاملة عن الحب والانتماء والخذلان. كان يرى في الناس ما لا يراه غيره، ويقول للسلطة ما لا يجرؤ عليه سواه. تمرّد على القالب الفني التقليدي، مثلما تمرّد على السياسة والطوائف والمنابر، ليصنع مجده الخاص — مجد الإنسان.

قال:

“بلا ولا شي… حبيني وفكري شوي.”

كم من نساءٍ تمنّين هذا الحب البسيط، وكم من رجال تمنّوا أن يكونوا بهذه الصدق والبساطة، دون ألقاب ولا رتب.

لقد عزف لفيروز، وكتب لليأس، ولحن للغضب، وضحك من الوجع. حمل في كلماته بيروت الجريحة، وفي موسيقاه صدى الشوارع المنسية. زياد لم يغادر، لأن كلماته تسكننا، ولأن الحب الذي غنّاه لا يعرف موتًا.

نرثيك يا زياد، لا لأنك رحلت، بل لأننا خسرنا آخر من كان يقول الحقيقة على المسرح، بلا ماكياج، بلا ولا شي.

نمْ حيث لا في “أمك بيك”، لا “رموش ومسكّرة”، ولا وطنٌ يتقاتل على الغنائم.

نمْ كما كنت تحلم دائمًا… في “الفي” يلي “مش لحدا”.

In a world drowning in noise, Ziad Rahbani was a voice that sounded like us—he shouted where we stayed silent, laughed where we mourned, and loved, simply, “bala wala chi” (with nothing at all).

Today, he steps down from the stage of the homeland, leaving behind fiery dialogues, music as weary as our souls, and poetry that no one else could ever recite. Ziad was no ordinary artist—he was a phenomenon. At times confrontational, always deeply tender, and disarmingly direct, he confused even the most calculated minds.

Only Ziad could turn a café into a theater, a balcony into a novel, and a quiet moment in the shade into a full-blown philosophy of love, belonging, and betrayal. He saw in people what others couldn't, and he spoke to power in a language only the brave could use. He broke the mold—artistically, politically, and socially—to build his own kind of glory: the glory of being human.

He once said:

“Bala wala chi… love me and think a little.”

How many women longed for such a simple love? How many men wished they could love with such honesty—without titles, without wealth?

He composed for Fairouz, wrote for despair, arranged for fury, and laughed through pain. In his words, he carried wounded Beirut; in his melodies, the echo of forgotten streets. Ziad never truly left—because his voice lives in us, and the kind of love he sang about doesn’t die.

We mourn you, Ziad—not because you're gone, but because we’ve lost the last one who dared speak the truth on stage… without makeup, bala wala chi.

Rest now, where there’s no “your mother and your father,”

no “mascara and lashes,”

no homeland fighting over scraps.

Rest as you always dreamed… in the shade that “belongs to no one.”
