وأكد الرئيس أن إرث زياد سيبقى حيًا، محفزًا للإبداع والمقاومة الفكرية، وأن الفن كما كان عنده موقف، سيظل كذلك في ذاكرة الأمة.
أما رئيس الحكومة نواف سلام، فقد قال:
“زياد كان أكثر من فنان… كان وجدانًا وطنياً يتحدث بلسان الناس. كتب وآلم وغنّى وجعهم، فدخل بيوتهم وقلوبهم بلا استئذان.”
وأردف:
“بقوة كلمته وجرأة فنه، زرع وعيًا جمعيًا جديدًا في ضمير اللبنانيين. أحرّ التعازي لعائلته وللشعب اللبناني الذي اعتبره صوتًا له.”
من جهته، أعرب وزير الثقافة غسان سلامة عن أسى كبير:
“كنا ندرك أن المرض يأخذ من زياد ما لا يعوّض. ومع ذلك، لم نتخيّل رحيله. اليوم نبكيه، لكننا نعلم أن فنه سيبقى يردّد فينا صدى الوطن.”
