في إطار جولاته السياسية المستمرة، أكد رئيس “التيار الوطني الحر”، النائب جبران باسيل، أن لقائه مع رئيس الجمهورية العماد جوزاف عون في قصر بعبدا كان “جيدًا”، وأعرب عن دعمه التام للعهد، مشددًا على موقفه الثابت في دعم الاستقرار الوطني.
وأشار باسيل إلى أن الموقف الذي يتبناه في ما يتعلق بالسلاح هو “من البديهي أن يُقابَل السلاح بانسحابٍ إسرائيلي، وتوقف الاعتداءات”. وأضاف باسيل أنه يجب تسليم السلاح إلى الدولة اللبنانية كخطوة نحو استقرار البلاد، مشيرًا إلى أن لبنان يجب أن يطالب في المقابل بحل جذري لمعضلة اللاجئين الفلسطينيين والنازحين السوريين الذين يشكلون تحديًا كبيرًا للبلاد.
كما أكد رئيس التيار الوطني الحر على ضرورة العودة الفورية للنازحين السوريين، قائلاً: “باتت العودة ضرورة ملحة، بعدما انتفى ارتباطها بأي مبرر في ظل سقوط النظام ورفع العقوبات”. وأوضح باسيل أن هذا الملف أصبح من القضايا الرئيسية التي يجب على الدولة اللبنانية التعامل معها بسرعة وفعالية.
وفي ختام تصريحاته، شدد باسيل على أهمية الوحدة الوطنية، وقال: “نأمل أن يلتقط حزب الله هذه الفرصة، كي نشعر جميعًا أننا قد ربحنا، إذ إن هزيمة أحدنا تعني، في النهاية، هزيمة الجميع”. وتبرز هذه المواقف من جبران باسيل في وقت حاسم من تاريخ لبنان، حيث كان اللقاء مع المبعوث السعودي الأمير يزيد بن فرحان آل سعود والبطريرك مار بشارة بطرس الراعي جزءًا من سلسلة من اللقاءات التي وضع خلالها باسيل ملفات الساعة على طاولة النقاش.

In his continuous political endeavors, the leader of the “Free Patriotic Movement” (FPM), MP Jibran Bassil, confirmed that his meeting with President Michel Aoun at the Baabda Palace was “good,” reiterating his full support for the current presidency and stressing his unwavering stance on supporting national stability.
Bassil highlighted that his position on weaponry is clear: “It is only logical that arms are met with an Israeli withdrawal and the cessation of aggression.” He emphasized that Hezbollah must hand over its weapons to the Lebanese state, which is a necessary step for the country's stability. Furthermore, he stated that Lebanon should demand a permanent solution to the issue of Palestinian refugees and Syrian displaced people who remain a significant challenge for the country.
Bassil also underscored the urgent need for the immediate return of Syrian refugees, saying: “The return has become an urgent necessity, especially since there are no longer any justifications for their presence following the collapse of the regime and the lifting of sanctions.” He clarified that addressing this issue is now a primary responsibility for the Lebanese government to handle swiftly and efficiently.
In his concluding remarks, Bassil stressed the importance of national unity, saying: “We hope that Hezbollah seizes this opportunity so that we all feel victorious, because one defeat means, in the end, the defeat of everyone.” This statement comes at a critical juncture in Lebanon's political landscape, with Bassil having held a series of discussions, including with Saudi envoy Prince Yazid bin Farhan Al Saud and Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, where he laid out key national issues for consideration.
