في ظل التوترات الأمنية والسياسية التي يعاني منها الشرق الأوسط، نشرت رئيسة “الكتلة الشعبية” ميريام سكاف تحذيرًا من خطر استهداف المسيحيين في المنطقة، وخاصة في سوريا، في وقت تتداخل فيه التسويات الإقليمية.
تهديد وجودي للمسيحيين في الشرق:
في منشور عبر منصة “إكس”، استعرضت سكاف التحديات الكبيرة التي يواجهها المسيحيون في الشرق الأوسط، مشيرة إلى المخاطر التي تحيط بهم في سوريا. وقالت: “من بين صواريخ المنطقة وتسوياتها التي لا نعرف كيف بدأت وعلى ماذا انتهت، ظهر الخطر على مسيحيي الشرق الذين هم درة الشرق وحراس نسيجه وشمس وجوده.”
الخطر الذي يلاحق المسيحيين في سوريا:
أشارت سكاف إلى أن التهديدات الأمنية أصبحت أكثر وضوحًا في سوريا، خاصة بعد الحوادث الأخيرة التي مست المسيحيين. قالت: “الخطر مؤخرًا سالت دماؤه من أبواب الكنائس وأثناء لقاء العائلات مع رب العائلة الأول.” وأكدت أن الوضع في سوريا أصبح محفوفًا بالمخاطر، حيث تعرضت الكنيسة المسيحية لهجمات إرهابية في دمشق، مما يعكس الأوضاع المتوترة.
تحذير من التسويات الكبرى:
وأوضحت سكاف أنه في ظل تسويات سياسية وإقليمية غير واضحة، يجب ألا يتحول المسيحيون في سوريا إلى “ورقة في صندوق بريد” يتم التلاعب بها في إطار هذه التسويات. وقالت: “ليس مسموحًا في زمن ترتيب التسويات الكبيرة أن يتحول المسيحيون في الشرق، وسوريا تحديدًا، إلى ورقة في صندوق بريد.”
دور سوريا كحامية للوجود المسيحي:
أكدت سكاف أن سوريا كانت ولا تزال “حاميها الرب والقديسون” وهي موطن رجال الدين والقديسين، مثل سمعان العمودي ويوحنا الدمشقي. وأشارت إلى أن تهديد هذا الوجود المسيحي العريق ليس بالأمر الذي يمكن السماح به أو التهاون معه. وأضافت: “مثل هذا الوجود لا يتم تهديده بإرهاب عابر للتسويات.”
الدعاء والحماية للمسيحيين:
اختتمت سكاف منشورها بالدعاء: “حمى الله سوريا بكل طوائفها… والمسيحيون ضمناً وضامناً.” هذا التصريح يعكس الالتزام بحماية الوجود المسيحي في المنطقة وحماية سوريا من أي تهديدات تستهدف تنوعها الثقافي والديني.

Skaff noted that the security threats against Christians in Syria had become more visible, especially with recent incidents that directly affected the Christian community. She mentioned, “Recently, blood was shed at the doors of churches and during family gatherings with the first head of the family.” She confirmed that Syria is facing significant dangers as the Christian community there has been targeted by terrorist attacks, especially in Damascus, which highlights the growing tension.
Warning Against Major Settlements:
Skaff also warned that in the midst of unclear political and regional settlements, Christians in Syria should not become a “paper in a mailbox” manipulated within these negotiations. She emphasized, “It is not permissible in times of major settlements for the Christians of the East, specifically Syria, to become a card in a mailbox.”
Syria’s Role as the Protector of Christian Presence:
Skaff stressed that Syria has always been a protector of the Christian presence, being the land of the Aramaic language of Christ and the birthplace of many saints. She noted that threatening this ancient Christian presence is not something that can be tolerated. She added, “Such a presence cannot be threatened by transient terrorism amidst settlements.”
A Prayer for the Protection of Christians:
Skaff concluded her post with a prayer: “May God protect Syria in all its sects… and Christians implicitly and explicitly.” This statement reflects a strong commitment to protecting the Christian presence in the region and ensuring Syria remains safe from any threats targeting its cultural and religious diversity.
