باراك: تدخل حزب الله في الحرب سيكون قرارًا كارثيًا على لبنان والمنطقة
استقبل رئيس مجلس النواب اللبناني نبيه بري في مكتبه في عين التينة المبعوث الأميركي الخاص، توماس باراك، الذي وصل إلى بيروت لتأكيد التزام بلاده بدعم لبنان في ظل التحديات والأزمات التي تواجهها المنطقة.
تصريحات باراك
أكد باراك خلال اللقاء أن الولايات المتحدة تلتزم بشكل كامل بمساعدة لبنان لتجنب التصعيد وتحقيق الاستقرار في المنطقة. وقال: “جئنا إلى لبنان لنؤكد التزامنا الثابت بمساعدة الشعب اللبناني، ونشدد على ضرورة تجنب تكرار أي سيناريو حرب مشابه لما شهدته المنطقة في الماضي.”
حزب الله والتورط في الحرب
وحذر باراك من أن أي تدخل محتمل لحزب الله في الحرب الحالية سيكون بمثابة “قرار سيئ” قد يؤثر بشكل سلبي على لبنان ويزيد من تعقيد الوضع الأمني في المنطقة. وأضاف أنه يجب تجنب هذا الخيار بأي ثمن لأن التصعيد لن يخدم سوى مصالح القوى التي تسعى للزعزعة والاستقرار في لبنان والمنطقة ككل.
التزام أميركي بالسلام والاستقرار
في سياق آخر، شدد باراك على أن الولايات المتحدة تؤمن بوجود إمكانية حقيقية لتحقيق تقدم في عملية السلام مع القيادة اللبنانية الجديدة، داعيًا إلى تبني الحلول السلمية لضمان استقرار المنطقة بعيدًا عن العنف. وقال: “نحمل رسالة أمل، ونؤمن بأن التحسن ممكن، وسنظل ملتزمين بمساعدة لبنان في بناء مستقبل أفضل.”
التوترات الإسرائيلية اللبنانية
وفيما يتعلق بالصراع الإسرائيلي اللبناني، أشار باراك إلى أن غياب الحلول النهائية للأزمة هو ما دفعه للقيام بهذه الزيارة إلى لبنان، مؤكدًا أن الجهود مستمرة لتحفيز الحوار وتقريب وجهات النظر بين الأطراف المعنية. وأوضح أن الولايات المتحدة تسعى لتعزيز فرص السلام والاستقرار في المنطقة من خلال الضغط على كافة الأطراف للبحث عن حلول سياسية طويلة الأمد.
Barak: Hezbollah's Involvement in the War Would Be a Catastrophic Decision for Lebanon and the Region
Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri received U.S. Special Envoy, Thomas Barak, at his office in Ain El-Tineh, confirming America's ongoing commitment to supporting Lebanon amid the challenges and tensions surrounding the region.
Barak's Statements
Barak emphasized that the United States remains fully committed to assisting Lebanon and avoiding further escalation in the region. “We came to Lebanon to reaffirm our unwavering commitment to supporting the Lebanese people and stress the importance of preventing any scenario resembling past wars in the region,” he said.
Hezbollah and the War Involvement
Barak warned that any potential involvement of Hezbollah in the ongoing war would be a “bad decision” that could negatively impact Lebanon and complicate the security situation in the region. He stressed that avoiding such a course of action is crucial, as escalating the conflict would only serve the interests of forces seeking to destabilize Lebanon and the region as a whole.
U.S. Commitment to Peace and Stability
In another context, Barak highlighted that the United States believes there is a real opportunity for progress in the peace process with the new Lebanese leadership. He called for adopting peaceful solutions to ensure long-term stability in the region, free from violence. “We bring a message of hope, and we believe that improvement is possible, and we remain committed to helping Lebanon build a better future,” Barak added.
Israeli-Lebanese Tensions
Regarding the Israeli-Lebanese conflict, Barak noted that if there were a final solution to the crisis, there would have been no need for his visit to Beirut. He stressed that efforts are ongoing to facilitate dialogue and bridge the gaps between the involved parties. The U.S. is working to strengthen opportunities for peace and stability in the region by pressuring all parties to seek long-term political solutions.
