بعد أورتاغوس… مهمة مؤقتة في بيروت تحمل رسائل سياسية واضحة!
من المتوقع أن يزور مبعوث الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب إلى سوريا، توم براك، لبنان الأسبوع المقبل، برفقة رجل الأعمال الأميركي اللبناني مسعد بولس، وذلك في إطار مهمة دبلوماسية وسياسية مؤقتة. الزيارة تأتي في وقت حساس، ومن المقرر أن تشمل لقاءات مع عدد من المسؤولين اللبنانيين.
في هذا السياق، أكد الصحافي والكاتب السياسي جوني منيّر في حديث لـ”ليبانون ديبايت”، أن “الزيارة المرتقبة للوفد الأميركي إلى لبنان تأتي ضمن سياق متابعة الملف اللبناني، بعد استبعاد مورغان أورتاغوس من هذا الدور. كانت الزيارة في الأصل مخصصة لأورتاغوس، إلا أن التبدلات في الفريق المعني بالملف اللبناني أدت إلى تكليف توم براك ومسعد بولس بهذه المهمة”.
وأضاف منيّر أن “براك وبولس سيحملان نفس المضامين التي كانت أورتاغوس تعتزم طرحها، لكن بأسلوبهما الخاص، وتشمل المطالب التالية:

وضع جدول زمني واضح لتسلّم الدولة اللبنانية ملف السلاح.

الدفع باتجاه تنفيذ الإصلاحات التي طال انتظارها.

استيضاح رؤية الدولة اللبنانية إزاء التزاماتها الدولية.
-
بحث مسألة ترسيم الحدود بين لبنان وسوريا.”
وأشار منيّر إلى أن “الزيارة تأتي في سياق إعادة ترتيب الفريق الأميركي المعني بالملف اللبناني من جانب إدارة ترامب، وقد تم تكليف براك وبولس بمهمة مؤقتة إلى حين تعيين السفير الأميركي الجديد، ميشال عيسى، وتسلّمه مهامه رسميًا في بيروت.”
After Ortagus… A Temporary Mission in Beirut Carrying Clear Political Messages!
It is expected that President Donald Trump's envoy to Syria, Tom Brack, will visit Lebanon next week, accompanied by Lebanese-American businessman Massad Boulos, as part of a temporary political and diplomatic mission. The visit comes at a critical time and is set to include meetings with several Lebanese officials.
In this context, political journalist and writer Johnny Mneir confirmed in an interview with “Lebanon24” that “the upcoming visit of the American delegation to Lebanon comes as part of the follow-up on the Lebanese file, after the exclusion of Morgan Ortagus from this role. The visit was initially planned for Ortagus, but changes in the team handling the Lebanese file led to assigning Tom Brack and Massad Boulos with this mission.”
Mneir added that “Brack and Boulos will carry the same messages that Ortagus intended to present, but in their own style. These messages include:

Setting a clear timeline for Lebanon to take control of the weapons file.

Pushing for the long-awaited reforms to be implemented.

Clarifying Lebanon's position regarding its international commitments.

Discussing the issue of border demarcation between Lebanon and Syria.”
Mneir pointed out that “the visit is part of the reorganization of the American team responsible for the Lebanese file by the Trump administration, and the task has been temporarily assigned to Brack and Boulos until the new U.S. ambassador, Michel Issa, officially assumes his duties in Beirut.”
