استقبل رئيس مجلس الوزراء اللبناني نواف سلام في السرايا الحكومية عدة وفود تناولت ملفات حيوية اقتصادية وإنمائية، إلى جانب متابعة ملف انفجار مرفأ بيروت.
في هذا الإطار، التقى سلام رئيس بعثة صندوق النقد الدولي أرنستو ريغو والممثل المقيم فريدريكو ليما، حيث جرى بحث مسار المفاوضات مع الجهات اللبنانية والإصلاحات المطلوبة تمهيدًا لتوقيع اتفاقية دعم لتعافي لبنان المالي والاقتصادي.
كما استقبل وفد جمعية “Rebirth Beirut” برئاسة غبريال فرنيني، الذي عرض على الرئيس مشاريع إنارة الشوارع في العاصمة، منها إنارة طريق المطار بدعم من شركة طيران الشرق الأوسط، حيث شدد سلام على أهمية إنجاز المشروع بسرعة لاستقبال الموسم السياحي.
وفي متابعة ملف انفجار المرفأ، التقى سلام وفدًا من أهالي الشهداء برئاسة وليام نون، الذي أكد على نقطتين أساسيتين: ضرورة تنفيذ مذكرات التوقيف المرتقبة في القضية، وحفظ إهراءات القمح كرمز للذاكرة الجماعية، خاصة مع وجود مخطط تمويل خارجي ونقابي جاهز، ينتظر فقط قرارًا رسميًا من الدولة.
وأشار نون إلى انتظار صدور القرار الظني في القضية قبل الرابع من آب القادم، مؤكدًا حرص الرئيس سلام على إعطاء الملف أهمية خاصة كونه قاضيًا دوليًا معروفًا بمواقفه ضد الجرائم الإنسانية.
“Beirut Port Explosion Victims’ Families Urge PM Nawaf Salam to Enforce Arrest Warrants and Preserve Grain Silos”
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam received several delegations at the Grand Serail, addressing vital economic and developmental issues alongside follow-up on the Beirut Port explosion case.
Salam met with IMF mission chief Ernesto Reig and resident representative Federico Lima to discuss ongoing negotiations with Lebanese authorities and the necessary reforms ahead of a support agreement for Lebanon’s financial and economic recovery.
He also welcomed a delegation from the “Rebirth Beirut” association, led by Gabriel Fernini, who presented street lighting projects in the capital, including the airport road lighting sponsored by Middle East Airlines. Salam emphasized the project’s swift completion to support the upcoming tourist season.
Regarding the port explosion case, Salam met with a delegation representing the victims’ families, headed by William Noon. Noon stressed two key demands: the urgent execution of upcoming arrest warrants related to the case, and the preservation of the grain silos as a collective memory symbol. A ready plan supported by the Engineers Syndicate and external funding awaits official government approval.
Noon highlighted that the indictment decision is expected before August 4th, praising Prime Minister Salam’s special attention to the case as a renowned international judge known for his stance against crimes against humanity.
