ويشرح جوني أن طبيعة العمليات العدائية تميزت بالتشتت لتشمل أكبر مساحة ممكنة من الجنوب، بهدف التأثير على أكبر عدد من السكان، وأن الطائرات المسيّرة كانت تستخدم لبث رسائل تحريضية على المقاومة، مما يوضح أن الهدف هو التأثير على الرأي العام الجنوبي.
