في ظلّ الأزمة الحادة التي يعاني منها قطاع الدواء في لبنان، والتي باتت تهدد سلامة المواطنين بشكل مباشر، أعلن نقيب صيادلة لبنان، الدكتور جو سلّوم، دعمه الكامل والمطلق لكافة الأجهزة الأمنية والقضائية والجمركية التي أطلقت حملة واسعة لملاحقة المتورطين في ترويج الأدوية المهرّبة والمغشوشة.
وفي حديثه مع “ليبانون ديبايت”، أكد الدكتور سلّوم أن هذه الحملة تُعد خطوة أساسية لتنقية السوق الدوائية من الشوائب والمخالفات التي انتشرت في السنوات الأخيرة، داعيًا إلى المضي قدماً في هذه الحملة حتى تحقيق النتائج المرجوة، دون النظر إلى نفوذ أو تأثير أي جهة كانت.
وأشار إلى أن صحة المريض يجب أن تظل البوصلة الحقيقية في هذا الملف، وأنه لا يجوز التهاون أو التسييس في هذا الجانب، أو إخضاعه لأي صفقات أو مصالح قد تضر بالمواطن.
وشدد نقيب الصيادلة على أهمية الإسراع في تأسيس “الوكالة الوطنية للدواء”، التي تعتبر حاجة ملحة لتنظيم القطاع الحيوي وضبط جودة واستيراد وتوزيع الأدوية داخل السوق اللبنانية. كما طالب بإعادة التدقيق الدقيق لجميع الأدوية المسجلة خلال السنوات الماضية، خاصة تلك الداخلة ضمن مناقصات الشراء العام، لضمان مطابقتها للمعايير العلمية والطبية الدولية.
وفي ختام تصريحه، أكد الدكتور سلّوم أن صحة المواطن اللبناني هي “الخط الأحمر” الذي لا يمكن تجاوزه، مؤكدًا أن نقابة الصيادلة ستظل شريكًا فاعلًا في كل خطوة تهدف إلى حماية القطاع الدوائي من الفساد والتلاعب مهما كانت التحديات.
Pharmacists’ Syndicate Supports Crackdown on Smuggled and Counterfeit Drugs, Calls for National Medicine Agency
Amid the severe ongoing medicine crisis in Lebanon, directly threatening citizens' health, Dr. Joe Salloum, head of the Lebanese Pharmacists’ Syndicate, declared his full support for all security, judicial, and customs authorities conducting a wide-ranging campaign to track down those involved in smuggling and distributing counterfeit medicines.
In an exclusive interview with Lebanon Debate, Dr. Salloum emphasized that this campaign represents a crucial step towards cleansing the pharmaceutical market from impurities and violations that have spread in recent years. He called for unwavering continuation of these efforts regardless of any influential parties.
He stressed that patient health must remain the sole compass guiding this issue, with no room for leniency, politicization, or submission to any deals or interests that might harm citizens.
Dr. Salloum also highlighted the urgent need to establish a National Medicine Agency, vital for regulating this essential sector and ensuring the quality, import, and distribution of medicines within Lebanon. He further urged thorough re-examination of all registered medicines over recent years, especially those involved in public procurement tenders, to confirm compliance with international scientific and medical standards.
Concluding his statement, Dr. Salloum affirmed that Lebanese citizens’ health is a “red line” that must not be crossed, assuring that the Pharmacists’ Syndicate will remain an active partner in all efforts aimed at protecting the pharmaceutical sector from corruption and manipulation, no matter the challenges faced.
