وفي تصريح خاص لـ”ليبانون ديبايت”، أكد الباحث في “الدولية للمعلومات”، محمد شمس الدين، أن “قضاء النبطية يضم حوالي 272 بلدية، وتم تسجيل التزكيات حتى الآن في 75 بلدية، مع توقعات بزيادة هذا الرقم خلال الساعات القادمة وحتى مساء يوم الجمعة، حيث يبقى باب التزكيات مفتوحًا”.
ويشير شمس الدين إلى أن “الغالبية العظمى من بلدات وقرى الجنوب لا تشهد معارك انتخابية حقيقية، إذ يتم حسم النتائج بشكل مسبق عبر التزكيات، وفي بعض الحالات تُشكّل لوائح رمزية فقط لمواجهة مرشح أو اثنين بهدف إثبات الوجود، كما هو الحال في بعض قرى قضاء صور والنبطية”.
في المقابل، توجد معركتان انتخابيتان بارزتان في الجنوب تستحوذان على اهتمام المتابعين، الأولى في مدينة صيدا التي يتوقع أن تشهد تنافسًا حادًا بين المرشحين، والثانية في قضاء جزين، حيث تسير الأمور بوتيرة تنافسية مرتفعة.

Mass Endorsements in Southern Lebanon Amidst Two Heated Municipal Election Battles Shaking the Scene
Southern Lebanon is gearing up for the upcoming municipal and ikhtiyari elections scheduled for next Saturday, amid exceptional and complex circumstances. These elections coincide with ongoing near-daily Israeli attacks on several border villages and towns, adding a unique and tense dimension that transcends the usual local administrative nature of such contests.
In an exclusive statement to “Lebanon Debate,” researcher Mohamed Shamseddine from the International Information Center highlighted that “the Nabatieh district comprises around 272 municipalities, with endorsements already registered in 75 municipalities so far. This number is expected to rise in the coming hours and until Friday evening, as the endorsement period remains open.”
Shamseddine further explained that “the vast majority of southern towns and villages do not witness actual electoral battles, as results are often settled beforehand through endorsements. In some cases, symbolic lists are formed to contest one or two candidates merely to assert presence, as is the case in several towns in the Tyre and Nabatieh districts.”
