أكد رئيس مجلس النواب اللبناني، نبيه بري، في حديث خاص مع موقع “المدن”، أن الانتخابات البلدية في بيروت قد أنجزت واجباتها، مشيرًا إلى أن التوازن الذي تحقق تجاوز تصنيف “الثنائي الشيعي” ليصبح “ثنائيًا وطنيًا”.
وأشار بري إلى أن نتائج الانتخابات في البقاع تعكس إرادة واضحة من القرى والبلدات التي أعطت صوتها لصالح الثنائي الوطني، مما يعزز من قوة هذا التوجه السياسي في المنطقة.
وفي تعليقه على الشائعات التي تربط الانتخابات البلدية بالانتخابات النيابية المقبلة، رفض بري هذه الفرضية جملة وتفصيلاً، موضحًا أن الانتخابات في بيروت جمعت الأضداد، بينما الانتخابات النيابية ستكون مختلفة وسيكون هناك تفرّق بين القوى السياسية.
أما بالنسبة للجنوب، فقد أكد بري أن الانتخابات البلدية ستُجرى في كافة الظروف “مهما كلف الأمر”، مشيرًا إلى أن الجهود مع حزب الله مركزة على تحقيق أكبر توافق ممكن بين الأطراف السياسية المعنية.
وختم بري تصريحه بالقول إن الأجواء تسير نحو التفاهم، وأنه جُهد بشكل مكثف لضمان تحقيق هذا الهدف الوطني، مما يعكس رغبة واضحة في تعزيز الوحدة والاستقرار في الجنوب اللبناني.
Nabih Berri on Upcoming Municipal Elections in Southern Lebanon: “At Any Cost” and Focus on National Consensus
Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri affirmed in an exclusive interview with Al-Mada that the municipal elections in Beirut have fulfilled their duties, noting that the achieved balance transcends the “Shiite duo” label and has become a “national duo.”
Berri pointed out that election results in the Bekaa region clearly reflect the will of villages and towns supporting the national duo, strengthening this political current in the area.
Addressing rumors linking municipal elections to the upcoming parliamentary elections, Berri firmly rejected the notion, explaining that Beirut’s elections united opposites, whereas parliamentary elections will differ with political factions diverging.
Regarding southern Lebanon, Berri emphasized that municipal elections will proceed regardless of circumstances, “at any cost,” highlighting that efforts with Hezbollah focus on achieving the broadest possible consensus among political parties involved.
He concluded by stating that the atmosphere is largely moving toward understanding, with intensive efforts dedicated to ensuring this national goal, reflecting a clear desire to bolster unity and stability in southern Lebanon.
