أكد وزير الداخلية في لبنان، أحمد الحجار، في حديث مع الإعلاميين صباح الأحد، أن المشاكل الإدارية التي شهدتها العملية الانتخابية خلال الأيام الماضية كانت بسيطة وتم التعامل معها بسرعة وكفاءة.
وأوضح الحجار أن الوزارة كانت على أتم الاستعداد لمواجهة كافة الإشكالات التي ظهرت خلال فترة تحضير الانتخابات التي استمرت أقل من شهرين ونصف. وأشار إلى أن الإشكال الأكبر كان في قضاء طرابلس بسبب غياب عدد كبير من الموظفين، معربًا عن أمله في تحسن الوضع مقارنة بالسنوات السابقة، ومؤكدًا أن الإشكالات هذا العام أقل بكثير، وهو ما يُعد درسًا للاستفادة منه في الانتخابات النيابية المقبلة.
وأضاف الحجار أن نسبة الاقتراع في بيروت بحاجة إلى الارتفاع، مستبعدًا حدوث أية مشاكل أمنية في المدينة بسبب الانتشار المكثف للقوى الأمنية. وشدد على ضرورة إجراء العملية الانتخابية بسلاسة وشفافية لتعكس إرادة الناخبين الحقيقية.
وفيما يتعلق بوضع محافظ الشمال بالتصرف، نفى الوزير وجود أي خلفيات سياسية لهذا القرار، موضحًا أنه جزء من ورشة التعيينات التي جرى الاتفاق عليها في مجلس الوزراء.
على الصعيد الأمني، أشار الحجار إلى وجود هواجس في مناطق جبل لبنان، الضاحية، وبعلبك-الهرمل، مؤكداً حرص الدولة على فرض سيادتها وممارسة الأمن من خلال مؤسساتها. وختم بالإشارة إلى الاتصالات الجارية مع الدول المشاركة في لجنة وقف إطلاق النار استعدادًا للانتخابات المقبلة في الجنوب، معربًا عن أمله في أن تمر هذه الانتخابات بأجواء هادئة وآمنة.

Al-Hajjar emphasized that the ministry was fully prepared to tackle all challenges encountered during the election preparations, which lasted less than two and a half months. He highlighted that the biggest issue occurred in Tripoli district due to the absence of a large number of employees, expressing hope for improvement compared to previous years.
