الرئيس عون من روما: دعوة لأبناء البقاع وبيروت للمشاركة الواسعة في الانتخابات البلدية وصناعة مستقبل الوطن
تابع رئيس الجمهورية العماد جوزاف عون صباح اليوم من روما، سير الانتخابات البلدية والاختيارية في مرحلتها الثالثة التي تشمل محافظات بيروت والبقاع وبعلبك الهرمل. وتلقى تقارير مفصلة من وزارتي الداخلية والبلديات والدفاع، إضافة إلى قيادة الجيش، حول الإجراءات الأمنية والإدارية واللوجستية المتخذة لضمان انسيابية وسلامة العملية الانتخابية.
وأعرب الرئيس عون عن أمله الكبير في مشاركة أبناء البقاع وبيروت بكثافة في صناديق الاقتراع، داعيًا إياهم إلى اختيار ممثليهم في المجالس البلدية والهيئات الاختيارية بعقلانية ومسؤولية. وأكد أن الناخبين لا يختارون أشخاصًا فحسب، بل هم يساهمون في صناعة مستقبل مدنهم وقراهم، حيث تمثل المجالس البلدية حكومات محلية مصغرة تدير شؤون المواطنين.
ودعا عون إلى رفع نسبة المشاركة الانتخابية عبر مشاركة شعبية واسعة، مؤكدًا أن هذه المشاركة تعكس تطلعات المواطنين للتغيير وبناء مستقبل أفضل للبنان.
على الصعيد ذاته، يُتوقع أن يحضر الرئيس عون واللبنانية الأولى السيدة نعمت عون القداس الحبري الأول للبابا لاون الرابع عشر في الفاتيكان، الذي سيُقام عند العاشرة صباحًا بتوقيت روما (الحادية عشرة بتوقيت بيروت)، بمشاركة عدد كبير من رؤساء الدول والحكومات.
في السياق نفسه، توجه رئيس الحكومة نواف سلام إلى مركز الاقتراع في مدرسة عمر فاخوري بمنطقة بئر حسن حيث أدلى بصوته، مشددًا على أهمية هذه الانتخابات في دعم الحكم المحلي وتعزيز دور البلديات في خدمة المواطنين.
وأكد سلام عقب التصويت أن هذه الانتخابات تخدم أهل بيروت، معربًا عن ثقته في أن سكان العاصمة سيضمنون التنوع والاختيار الأمثل لمدينتهم. وأضاف أن دور الحكومة هو تأمين متطلبات أهل بيروت مع الحفاظ على حياديتها في الاستحقاق الانتخابي، موضحًا أن الخيار النهائي بيد الناخبين.
أما على الجانب التنظيمي، فأعرب رئيس الحكومة عن أمله في تسريع عملية فرز الأصوات في بيروت، معتبرًا أن الانتخابات فرصة لأهل العاصمة لتأكيد مصالحهم وخياراتهم الإنمائية. وأوضح سبب عدم مشاركة الرئيس عون في القمة العربية في بغداد، مشيرًا إلى تعارض التوقيت مع زيارة الفاتيكان.
President Aoun from Rome Urges Beirut and Bekaa Voters to Participate Widely in Municipal Elections and Shape Lebanon’s Future
President Josheph Aoun, from Rome, closely monitored the progress of the third phase of municipal and council elections covering Beirut, Bekaa, and Baalbek-Hermel governorates. He received detailed reports from the Ministries of Interior, Municipalities, Defense, and the Army Command regarding the security, administrative, and logistical measures taken to ensure a smooth and safe electoral process.
President Aoun expressed his strong hope for high voter turnout among the people of Bekaa and Beirut, urging them to choose their representatives in municipal councils and elective bodies with conviction, freedom, and responsibility. He emphasized that voters are not merely selecting individuals but are shaping the future of their towns and villages, noting that municipal councils act as mini-governments managing local affairs.
He called for increased voter participation as a reflection of citizens' desire for change and a better future for Lebanon.
Meanwhile, President Aoun and First Lady Naamat Aoun are expected to attend the inaugural papal mass of Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican, scheduled at 10 AM Rome time (11 AM Beirut time), alongside numerous world leaders.
Simultaneously, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam cast his vote at Omar Fakhoury School in Beirut's Bir Hassan district, underscoring the importance of this electoral milestone in supporting local governance and strengthening municipalities' roles in serving citizens.
Following his vote, Salam expressed confidence that Beirut's residents will ensure diversity and choose the city they aspire to. He stressed the government’s role in meeting Beirut’s needs while maintaining neutrality during this election, affirming that the ultimate choice rests with the people.
On the organizational front, Salam hoped for a faster and more efficient vote-counting process in Beirut, viewing the elections as an opportunity for Beirutis to assert their developmental priorities. He also explained President Aoun’s absence from the Arab summit in Baghdad due to a scheduling conflict with the Vatican visit.
