“الأساتذة المتعاقدون في لبنان: إضراب وتصعيد محتمل بسبب المطالب المهنية والمعيشية”
لا يزال الأساتذة المتعاقدون في التعليم الأساسي الرسمي في لبنان يواصلون نضالهم من أجل تأمين حقوقهم المعيشية والمهنية في ظل الأزمات الراهنة التي يعاني منها القطاع. وفي هذا السياق، تحدثت الدكتورة نسرين شاهين، رئيسة رابطة الأساتذة المتعاقدين، لموقع “ليبانون ديبايت”، حول المستجدات المتعلقة بملف الأساتذة وأوضاعهم، مشيرة إلى الجهود الكبيرة التي بذلتها الرابطة في الأسابيع الماضية.
وأوضحت شاهين أن الرابطة نفذت إضرابًا طويلًا استمر لأكثر من شهر ونصف، بالإضافة إلى سلسلة من الاعتصامات الحاشدة كان آخرها مؤتمر صحافي شارك فيه أكثر من ثلاثة آلاف أستاذ وأستاذة، وذلك بهدف الضغط على الحكومة لتأمين الحقوق المعيشية والمهنية للأساتذة، خصوصًا في ما يتعلق بـ رفع أجر الساعة والمساعدة الاجتماعية.
وتطرقت شاهين إلى الاتفاق الذي تم بعد تدخل الحكومة، حيث وعدت وزارة التربية برفع كتابين إلى مجلس الوزراء بشأن تحديد تكلفة المساعدة الاجتماعية في الصيف و رفع أجر الساعة. ولكن فوجئت الرابطة بخلو جدول أعمال مجلس الوزراء من أي بند يتعلق بهذا الموضوع، على الرغم من التصريحات السابقة التي أكدت اهتمام الحكومة بهذا الملف.
وأكدت شاهين أنها تواصلت مع مستشاري الوزيرة الذين أفادوا بأنهم يعملون على معالجة المستحقات المالية، لكن الرد كان واضحًا، إذ لم يعلق الأساتذة إضرابهم من أجل تحصيل المستحقات فقط، بل كان الهدف الأساسي من المفاوضات هو معالجة موضوع المساعدة الاجتماعية ورفع أجر الساعة، معتبرة أن هذه المطالب مشروعة.
ودعت شاهين رئيس الحكومة القاضي نواف سلام، الذي تعهد بالتدخل شخصيًا لإنصاف الأساتذة، إلى اتخاذ موقف حاسم في ظل المماطلة المستمرة من وزارة التربية، مؤكدة أن الرابطة تجدد ثقتها بعدالة الرئيس سلام وترقب تطور الأمور خلال الأيام المقبلة. وأكدت أنها ستضطر إلى اتخاذ إجراءات تصعيدية لحماية حقوق الأساتذة إذا لم يتم اتخاذ خطوات جدية من قبل الحكومة.
في ختام حديثها، أشارت شاهين إلى أن الرابطة ستتابع المفاوضات مع وزارة التربية، وفي حال لم تُلبَّ مطالب الأساتذة، فستلجأ إلى خطوات تصعيدية.
“Lebanese Contracted Teachers Face Strike and Possible Escalation Over Salary and Benefits Demands”
The contracted teachers in Lebanon's public primary education system are continuing their struggle to secure their livelihood and professional rights, amidst the ongoing crises that the sector is facing. In this regard, Dr. Nasreen Shaheen, the head of the Contracted Teachers Association, spoke to “Lebanon24” about the latest developments regarding the teachers' situation, highlighting the significant efforts made by the association in recent weeks.
Shaheen explained that the association had organized a long strike lasting over a month and a half, in addition to a series of massive sit-ins, the latest of which was a press conference attended by over three thousand teachers, aimed at pressuring the government to secure the teachers' livelihood and professional rights, particularly concerning increased hourly wages and social assistance.
Shaheen also discussed the agreement made after government intervention, where the Ministry of Education had promised to send two letters to the Council of Ministers concerning determining the cost of summer social assistance and increasing hourly wages. However, the association was surprised to find that the agenda of the Council of Ministers was void of any item on this subject, despite previous statements affirming the government's interest in this issue.
She confirmed that she had contacted the Minister's advisors, who assured them that they were working on resolving the financial entitlements. However, the response was clear, as the teachers did not suspend their strike just to collect their dues, but rather, the main goal of negotiations was to address the issue of social assistance and raise the hourly wage, which she considered legitimate demands.
Shaheen called on Prime Minister Najib Mikati, who personally pledged to intervene to ensure fairness for the teachers, to take a decisive stand amid the continuous procrastination from the Ministry of Education, stressing that the association reaffirms its confidence in Mikati's fairness and is awaiting developments in the coming days. She emphasized that if serious steps are not taken by the government, the association may resort to escalation measures to protect the teachers' rights.
In conclusion, Shaheen mentioned that the association would continue negotiating with the Ministry of Education, and if the teachers' demands are not met, they will resort to escalatory steps.
