ضرب زلزال قوي مدينة إسطنبول اليوم الأربعاء، مما تسبب في اهتزاز المباني ومغادرة الناس للمنازل فور وقوع الهزة الأرضية. حسب إدارة الكوارث والطوارئ التركية (آفاد)، فقد ضرب الزلزال منطقة سيليفري شمال إسطنبول عند الساعة 12:49 بالتوقيت المحلي، بقوة 6.2 درجة على مقياس ريختر. وأكدت “آفاد” أن الزلزال وقع على عمق 6.92 كيلومترًا، وشعرت به أيضًا بعض الولايات المجاورة.
وقد أشار الخبير الهولندي فرانك هوغربيتس، المعروف بتوقعاته المثيرة للجدل بشأن الزلازل، إلى أن الزلزال وقع في بحر مرمرة في غرب تركيا، وعلى عمق 12 كيلومترًا. وأضاف هوغربيتس أن هذا الزلزال مرتبط بشذوذ جوي تم تسجيله في الخامس من أبريل، محذرًا من أن المنطقة قد تشهد زلازل أقوى في المستقبل قد تصل قوتها إلى 7.6 درجات، كما حدث في سنوات 1509 و1766. وذكر أن الزلزال الذي وقع اليوم قد يتبعه هزات ارتدادية.
من جهة أخرى، أفاد مركز أبحاث العلوم الجيولوجية الألماني أن الزلزال كان بقوة 6.02 درجة، مركزه على عمق 10 كيلومترات. وأضاف المركز أن الهزة استمرت ما بين 10 و15 ثانية وشعر بها سكان إسطنبول وعدد من الولايات التركية المجاورة، مما تسبب في حالة من الذعر.
وصرح وزير الداخلية التركي أن إدارة الكوارث بدأت، بالتعاون مع الجهات المعنية، مسحًا ميدانيًا لمتابعة آثار الزلزال. حتى الآن، لم ترد أي معلومات رسمية عن الضحايا أو الأضرار المحتملة.
لاحقًا، أعلنت “آفاد” عن وقوع هزتين ارتداديتين قرب سواحل بويوك تشَكْمَجَة شمال إسطنبول، بقوة 4.4 درجة و4.9 درجة على مقياس ريختر. كما حذرت “آفاد” المواطنين من دخول المباني المتضررة من الزلزال أو التواجد في محيطها.

“Powerful Earthquake Strikes Istanbul with Magnitude 6.2: Warnings of Stronger Quakes Ahead”
A powerful earthquake hit Istanbul today, Wednesday, shaking buildings and prompting people to evacuate their homes as soon as the tremor occurred. Later, AFAD reported two aftershocks near the coasts of Büyükçekmece north of Istanbul, measuring 4.4 and 4.9 on the Richter scale. AFAD also warned citizens against entering damaged buildings or staying in their vicinity.
