ترأس وزير الداخلية والبلديات أحمد الحجار اجتماعًا لمجلس الأمن الداخلي المركزي، بمشاركة أعضاء المجلس، المحافظين، المديرين العامين في الوزارة، مجموعة من الضباط وفريق عمل الوزارة.
وخلال الاجتماع، شدد الحجار على أن الانتخابات البلدية والاختيارية ليست مجرد استحقاق دستوري، بل هي رسالة واضحة تؤكد التزام الدولة بالديموقراطية وتجديد الثقة في المؤسسات الرسمية. وأشار إلى أن هذا الحدث سيكون نقطة انطلاق قوية لعهد رئيس الجمهورية العماد جوزاف عون وحكومة الرئيس نواف سلام، اللذين يلتزمان باحترام المواعيد الدستورية.
كما أكد الحجار على أهمية الالتزام التام بمبدأ الحياد في العملية الانتخابية، موضحًا أن “أي تدخل من موظف رسمي في الانتخابات تحت أي ذريعة هو أمر غير مقبول”. كما شدد على ضرورة محاربة الرشاوى والمال الانتخابي بكل حزم.
وطالب الوزير الحجار الأجهزة الأمنية بالتعامل الجاد مع هذا الملف، مشددًا على أهمية الشفافية والنزاهة المطلقة في جميع جوانب العملية الانتخابية. وأوصى بضرورة أن يعقد المحافظون اجتماعات مع مجالس الأمن الفرعية في كل محافظة، وذلك قبل موعد الانتخابات لضمان التنسيق الكامل بين جميع الأجهزة المعنية.
وفي ختام الاجتماع، دعا الحجار إلى تعزيز الإجراءات الأمنية، مؤكدًا على ضرورة منع أي أعمال قد تؤثر سلبًا على سير العملية الانتخابية.
“Municipal Elections: Al-Hajjjar Emphasizes Complete Neutrality and the Fight Against Interference and Electoral Bribery”
Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmad Al-Hajjjar chaired a meeting of the Central Internal Security Council, attended by members of the council, governors, general directors in the ministry, a number of officers, and the ministry's team.
During the meeting, Al-Hajjjar emphasized that municipal and elective elections are not just a constitutional obligation, but also a clear message affirming the state's commitment to democracy and renewing trust in official institutions. He pointed out that this event will mark a strong start for the term of President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, both of whom are committed to respecting constitutional deadlines.
Al-Hajjjar also stressed the importance of adhering to the principle of complete neutrality during the electoral process, stating that “any interference by a public official in the elections under any pretext is unacceptable.” He further emphasized the need to fight electoral bribery and money with determination.
The minister urged the security forces to take this issue seriously, stressing the importance of transparency and integrity in all aspects of the electoral process. He recommended that governors hold meetings with the sub-security councils in each governorate before the elections to ensure full coordination between all relevant agencies.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Al-Hajjjar called for strengthening security measures, emphasizing the need to prevent any actions that could negatively impact the course of the election process.
