أعلنت شرطة مكافحة الإرهاب البريطانية، اليوم الخميس، عن توقيف رجلين يشتبه في ارتباطهما بجماعة “حزب الله” المحظورة في المملكة المتحدة. وأوضحت الشرطة أن التحقيقات تتعلق بأنشطة يشتبه في كونها تتضمن أعمالًا إرهابية داخل وخارج المملكة المتحدة.
وقالت شرطة مكافحة الإرهاب في لندن (CTC) إن عناصرها ألقت القبض على رجل يبلغ من العمر 39 عامًا في شمال لندن، حيث يشتبه في انتمائه إلى “حزب الله”، بالإضافة إلى تورطه في تمويل الأنشطة الإرهابية والتحضير لها.

ومن جانب آخر، أكدت الشرطة أنه قد تم الإفراج عن الموقوفين بكفالة، ومن المقرر أن يعودوا إلى المحكمة في منتصف شهر يوليو المقبل.
Arrest of Hezbollah-Linked Individuals in London
British counter-terrorism police announced today, Thursday, the arrest of two men suspected of links to the banned Hezbollah organization. The investigations reportedly involve activities believed to be related to terrorism both within the United Kingdom and internationally.
The London Counter-Terrorism Command (CTC) reported that its officers arrested a 39-year-old man in North London on suspicion of belonging to the Hezbollah group, preparing for terrorist activities, and being involved in financing terrorism.
The police have not disclosed further details regarding the identity of the arrested individuals or the nature of the alleged activities, but they have confirmed that the investigations are ongoing. The authorities emphasized their commitment to taking strict action against prohibited groups under British law.
Another man, aged 35, was arrested in West London on suspicion of being a member of the banned organization. Counter-Terrorism Chief Dominic Murphy stated, “Our investigations are still ongoing, but I hope these arrests show that we will take firm action against anyone here suspected of being involved in terrorism, whether their activities focus here in the UK or elsewhere.”
It is important to note that Hezbollah, supported by Iran, was designated as a terrorist group by the UK in 2019. The police have clarified that there is no direct threat to the public at this time.
