رئيس الجمهورية عون يعلّق على رفع علم لبناني “مشطوب”: هذا الأمر لا يجوز!
في جلسة مجلس الوزراء المنعقدة اليوم الخميس، شدد رئيس الجمهورية اللبناني، جوزاف عون، على أهمية الرمز الوطني الذي يمثله العلم اللبناني. وعلق عون على الحادثة التي شهدتها ساحة الشهداء، حيث تم رفع علم لبناني لكن مع علامة حمراء على الأرز التي تتوسط العلم، قائلاً: “هذا الأمر لا يجوز”، مشيرًا إلى أن المساس بالعلم اللبناني أمر غير مقبول، حتى ولو كانت النوايا صافية، مؤكداً أن العلم هو رمز لبنان وأن المحافظة عليه هي مسؤولية جميع اللبنانيين.
زيارة الرئيس عون إلى المملكة العربية السعودية
من جانب آخر، تناول رئيس الجمهورية في كلمته في الجلسة موضوع الزيارة الرسمية التي قام بها إلى المملكة العربية السعودية. حيث التقى مع ولي العهد السعودي، الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبد العزيز، وأجرى محادثات موسعة تناولت العديد من القضايا المشتركة بين البلدين.
وأشار عون إلى أن السعودية أبدت استعدادها لتقديم المساعدة للبنان فور تنفيذ الإصلاحات المطلوبة، مشددًا على أن الإصلاحات هي مطلب لبناني في المقام الأول، وليست مجرد طلب خارجي. وأكد أن لبنان يعتزم المضي قدمًا في تنفيذ هذه الإصلاحات نظرًا لحاجة البلد إليها.
مساعٍ لتخفيف الحظر السعودي
كما شدد الرئيس عون على ضرورة رفع الحظر المفروض على سفر المواطنين السعوديين إلى لبنان، و تسهيل تصدير المنتجات اللبنانية إلى المملكة العربية السعودية. وأوضح أن هذه الطلبات قيد الدراسة من قبل الجانب السعودي، استنادًا إلى البيان المشترك الصادر بعد الزيارة الرسمية.
وأشار عون إلى أن هناك زيارة ثانية مرتقبة إلى السعودية بعد عيد الفطر، والتي سيشارك فيها عدد من الوزراء اللبنانيين بهدف توقيع اتفاقيات بين البلدين، مما من شأنه أن يعزز العلاقات الاقتصادية ويساهم في تحفيز الاقتصاد اللبناني.
قمة عربية طارئة
على صعيد آخر، وضع عون مجلس الوزراء في صورة مشاركته في القمة العربية الطارئة التي عقدت في مصر، حيث أشار إلى أنه التقى مع عشرة رؤساء دول أكدوا جميعهم دعمهم للبنان، مشيرين إلى أنهم ينتظرون الإصلاحات اللبنانية ويعربون عن رغبتهم في زيارة لبنان في وقت لاحق.
كما أكد عون أن الملك عبد الله الثاني من الأردن أبدى دعمه السياسي للبنان، بالإضافة إلى تأكيده على دعم تسليح الجيش اللبناني. وأشاد الرئيس الفلسطيني محمود عباس بالإجراءات التي يتخذها لبنان بشأن المخيمات الفلسطينية والسلاح الموجود فيها، مما يعكس التضامن العربي مع لبنان في هذه المرحلة الدقيقة.

President Aoun Comments on “Stripped” Lebanese Flag: This is Not Acceptable!
During today’s Cabinet session, Lebanese President Michel Aoun expressed his concern over an incident involving the Lebanese flag. A flag featuring a red mark on the cedar in the center was raised at Martyrs’ Square, and President Aoun remarked that “this is not acceptable”. He emphasized that tampering with the Lebanese flag is prohibited, even with good intentions, as the flag represents Lebanon's identity and it is the duty of all Lebanese citizens to preserve it.
President Aoun’s Visit to Saudi Arabia
President Aoun also discussed his official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. During their discussions, many common issues between the two countries were addressed, including Lebanon's economic challenges and the ongoing need for reforms.
Aoun emphasized that Saudi Arabia is ready to assist Lebanon once the required reforms are implemented. He reiterated that these reforms are a Lebanese priority and not just an external request. Lebanon intends to carry out these reforms, given the pressing need for them, but Aoun also highlighted the importance of Saudi support for Lebanon.
Efforts to Lift Saudi Travel Ban
Furthermore, President Aoun highlighted his request to the Saudi Crown Prince to lift the travel ban on Saudi citizens visiting Lebanon and to facilitate the export of Lebanese products to Saudi Arabia. These requests are currently under review, as stated in the joint statement issued after the visit.
Aoun also mentioned a planned second visit to Saudi Arabia after Eid al-Fitr, which will include several Lebanese ministers to sign agreements between the two countries, aiming to strengthen bilateral relations and provide a much-needed boost to the Lebanese economy.
Emergency Arab Summit
On another front, Aoun shared with the Cabinet details of his participation in the emergency Arab summit held in Egypt, where he met with 10 heads of states who all reaffirmed their support for Lebanon. These leaders are awaiting Lebanon's reforms and expressed a desire to visit Lebanon in the future.
He also mentioned that Jordanian King Abdullah II expressed his political support for Lebanon, in addition to offering support for arming the Lebanese army. Additionally, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas praised Lebanon’s measures regarding Palestinian camps and the arms present within them, which reflects Arab solidarity with Lebanon during this critical time.
