أكد رئيس وزراء غرينلاند، موتي بوروب إيجيدي، في تصريح له اليوم الأربعاء، أن غرينلاند ليست للبيع، وذلك ردًا على رسالة بعث بها الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب أعلن فيها دعم واشنطن لحق الجزيرة في تقرير مصيرها.
وأوضح إيجيدي أن مواطني غرينلاند ليسوا أميركيين ولا دنماركيين، بل هم غرينلانديون، مشددًا على أن شعب غرينلاند هو من سيقرر مستقبل الجزيرة. وأضاف في منشور له عبر منصة فيسبوك، كتب فيه باللغتين الغرينلاندية والدنماركية: “على الولايات المتحدة أن تدرك ذلك”.
الرسالة الأميركية وإعلان ترامب
جاء رد رئيس وزراء غرينلاند بعد خطاب مباشر ألقاه ترامب أمام الكونغرس، حيث أعلن فيه أن الولايات المتحدة ستستحوذ على غرينلاند بطريقة أو بأخرى، مؤكدًا لسكان الجزيرة أن واشنطن “ستحافظ على سلامتهم”. وكان ترامب قد ألقى هذا الخطاب يوم الثلاثاء، أي قبل أسبوع من الانتخابات البرلمانية في غرينلاند، والتي هي إقليم دنماركي متمتع بالحكم الذاتي.
وأكد ترامب في خطابه أنه: “نحن بحاجة إلى غرينلاند حقًا من أجل الأمن العالمي“، مضيفًا في رسالة مباشرة إلى سكان غرينلاند: “نرحب بكم في أميركا إن أردتم”. وأشار إلى أن الولايات المتحدة تدعم “حقكم في تقرير مصيركم”.

Greenland’s Prime Minister, Móte Borup Egidi, confirmed on Wednesday that Greenland is not for sale, responding to a message from U.S. President Donald Trump, who declared his support for the island’s right to self-determination.

This response from Prime Minister Egidi came after a direct speech delivered by Trump to the U.S. Congress, in which he stated that the United States would acquire Greenland one way or another, assuring the island’s residents that Washington “would ensure your safety.” Trump made this statement on Tuesday, just one week before Greenland’s parliamentary elections, which are part of Denmark's self-governing territory.
Trump further declared in his speech: “We truly need Greenland for global security,” adding a direct message to Greenland’s residents: “We welcome you to America if you wish.” He emphasized that the U.S. supports your right to self-determination.
