علق وزير الأشغال العامة والنقل في الحكومة، فايز رسامني، على الإجراءات الأمنية التي تتخذها السلطات اللبنانية لحماية مطار رفيق الحريري الدولي والمرافئ البحرية في لبنان، وذلك في مواجهة محاولات التهريب التي تزايدت مؤخرًا. وأوضح رسامني أن هناك “توجهًا لبناء مطار ثانٍ” في لبنان، وهو مشروع يأتي ضمن خطط الحكومة التي يتم التنسيق بشأنها مع رئاسة الجمهورية و رئاسة مجلس الوزراء.
وفي حديث خاص لقناة “الحرة”، أضاف رسامني أن السلطات المختصة قد بدأت بالفعل في إجراء الدراسات اللازمة لهذا المشروع، الذي من المتوقع أن يكون له تأثير كبير على تحسين البنية التحتية للطيران في لبنان.

وفي رد على سؤال حول ما إذا كانت هذه الإجراءات تُتخذ “منعًا لأي تصعيد عسكري إسرائيلي”، أكد الوزير رسامني أن هذه الإجراءات هي “ضرورية وتُطبق في جميع المطارات العالمية“، مشيرًا إلى أن مطار بيروت الدولي ليس استثناءً من ذلك.

Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamny, commented on the security measures being implemented by Lebanese authorities to protect Rafic Hariri International Airport and the country's ports, in response to increasing smuggling activities. Rasamny emphasized that there is a “plan to build a second airport” in Lebanon, a project that is part of the government's plans, coordinated with the Presidency of the Republic and the Prime Minister's office.
In an exclusive interview with “Al Hurra” channel, Rasamny stated that the concerned authorities have already started conducting necessary studies for this project, which is expected to have a significant impact on improving Lebanon's aviation infrastructure.

When asked if these measures are being taken to “prevent any Israeli military escalation,” Rasamny confirmed that these measures are “necessary and are implemented at all airports globally.” He highlighted that Beirut International Airport is not an exception in this regard.
