أفادت وزارة الصحة العامة اللبنانية، اليوم الأربعاء، بأنه بتاريخ 14 تشرين الأول، تم الإبلاغ عن حالة محتملة للإصابة بالكوليرا. وعلى الفور، بدأ فريق الترصد الوبائي في الوزارة بالتحقيق في الأمر، من خلال جمع العينات السريرية والبيئية، والقيام بزيارات ميدانية للتحقق من الوضع.

وفي بيان الوزارة، تم الإعلان عن تثبيت الإصابة بتاريخ 16 تشرين الأول، بعد التأكد من وجود جرثومة الكوليرا من النمط 01 في إحدى المختبرات المرجعية.

وأوضحت الوزارة أن الحالة تتعلق بمواطنة لبنانية من بلدة السمونية في منطقة عكار، حيث توجهت المريضة إلى المستشفى في 14 تشرين الأول بعد إصابتها بإسهال مائي حاد وحالة تجفاف. وقد تم التأكيد على عدم وجود أي سجل سفر للمريضة في الفترة الأخيرة.

وفي إطار إجراءاتها الاحترازية، تعمل وزارة الصحة على متابعة المخالطين للحالة المصابة، وجمع عينات من محيطها للبحث عن أي حالات إضافية. كما يشمل التحقيق البحث عن مصادر تلوث محتملة في المياه، حيث تم جمع عينات من المياه في بلدة السمونية ومشمش وإرسالها إلى المختبرات للتحليل.

وأكدت وزارة الصحة أنه سيتم تفعيل الخطة الوطنية لمكافحة الكوليرا بشكل فوري، مع البدء في اتخاذ كافة التدابير اللازمة لاحتواء انتشار المرض ومنع تفاقمه.

**Cholera Case Reported in Akkar… Ministry of Health Takes Containment Measures**

Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health announced on Wednesday that a potential cholera case was reported on October 14. The ministry’s epidemiological surveillance team immediately began investigations by collecting clinical and environmental samples and conducting field visits to assess the situation.

According to the ministry’s statement, the cholera infection was confirmed on October 16, after the Vibrio cholerae serogroup O1 bacterium was isolated in a reference laboratory.

The statement clarified that the patient, a Lebanese national from the town of Samouniyeh in Akkar, was hospitalized on October 14 due to acute watery diarrhea and dehydration. It was confirmed that the patient had no recent travel history.

The Ministry of Health is actively tracking contacts of the infected individual and collecting samples from those in close proximity to check for any additional cases. Furthermore, the investigation includes searching for possible water contamination sources, with water samples being collected from Samouniyeh and Mishmish and sent to reference laboratories for analysis.

The ministry emphasized that the national cholera control plan will be immediately activated, with all necessary containment measures being implemented to curb the spread of the disease.
