كشفت صحيفة “وول ستريت جورنال” أن المبعوث الأميركي إلى لبنان وجّه نداءً إلى رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو خلال اجتماع عُقد يوم الاثنين، طالبًا منه تجنب شن أي حرب ضد حزب الله.

تأتي هذه المناشدة في ظل تصاعد التوترات بين إسرائيل وحزب الله، وسط جهود دبلوماسية أميركية تسعى لمنع اندلاع صراع واسع النطاق. ورغم استدعاء إسرائيل لقوات الاحتياط، أكدت الصحيفة نقلاً عن مسؤولين أميركيين أنه لا توجد مؤشرات واضحة على هجوم إسرائيلي وشيك على لبنان.

ومع ذلك، أشار المسؤولون إلى أن إسرائيل قد تلجأ إلى تنفيذ “عملية عسكرية محدودة وسريعة” دون تصعيد شامل. وفي الوقت ذاته، أعربت وزارة الدفاع الأميركية عن قلقها من احتمالية نشوب حرب برية بين إسرائيل وحزب الله، مما قد يساهم في زيادة العنف وعدم الاستقرار في المنطقة.

The *Wall Street Journal* reported that the U.S. envoy to Lebanon urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a meeting on Monday to refrain from launching a war against Hezbollah.

This appeal comes amid escalating tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, as U.S. officials work to prevent a new conflict that could lead to a broader war. Despite Israel's call for reservists, American officials emphasized that there are currently no clear signs of an imminent Israeli invasion of Lebanon.

However, they noted that Israel might opt for a “swift and limited military operation” without engaging in a full-scale offensive. Meanwhile, the U.S. Department of Defense expressed concern over the potential for a ground war between Israel and Hezbollah, which could escalate violence across the region.
