سموتريتش يدعو لحرب مدمّرة على لبنان

دعا وزير المالية الإسرائيلي بتسلئيل سموتريتش الحكومة والجيش إلى “المبادرة بشن حرب في لبنان لإعادة السكان”.

وأشار إلى أن “لا اتفاق يستحق الورق الذي سيكتب عليه”.

وأوضح سموتريش، في مقابلة مع “القناة 12” الإسرائيلية، أن “الصفقة مع حماس ليست جيدة لإسرائيل ولا للأمن، ولن تعيد جميع الأسرى”، مطالباً بـ”إنهاء الحرب بالقضاء على حماس للتمكن من التركيز على الشمال وإيران”.

وفي لقاء سابق مع هيئة البث الإسرائيلية، أشار سموتريتش، الذي يشغل أيضاً منصب رئيس حزب “الصهيونية الدينية” ووزير إضافي في وزارة الدفاع، إلى ضرورة “شن حرب قصيرة وليست طويلة كما في غزة”، موضحاً أن الهدف هو توجيه “ضربة قاتلة للبنان” من شأنها أن تستغرق 30 عاماً للتعافي منها، حسب تعبيره.

وتابع سموتريتش، في تصريحات اعتبرها البعض متطرفة، أنه “يجب على إسرائيل خوض حرب في الشمال وإقامة شريط أمني على الجانب اللبناني من الحدود”.

Smotrich Calls for Devastating War Against Lebanon

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has called on both the government and the military to “initiate a war in Lebanon to resettle the population.”

He emphasized that “no agreement is worth the paper it will be written on.”

In an interview with Israel's Channel 12, Smotrich criticized a potential deal with Hamas, stating that “the agreement is not good for Israel or its security, and it will not return all the captives.” He urged that the war be concluded by eliminating Hamas, allowing Israel to focus on the northern front and Iran.

In a previous interview with the Israel Broadcasting Corporation, Smotrich, who also serves as the leader of the Religious Zionism party and holds an additional position in the Ministry of Defense, stressed the need for “a short war, not a prolonged one like in Gaza.” He added that the goal should be to deliver a “devastating blow to Lebanon,” one that would take them 30 years to recover from, as he put it.

Smotrich, in what many have deemed extreme statements, further argued that “Israel must engage in a war in the north and establish a security buffer zone on the Lebanese side of the border.”
