Background
The Enumerators will work under the project “Transforming the food system – an alternative, solidarity-based model for food security in Lebanon” funded by BMZ and implemented in partnership with Helvetas.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
The Enumerator will be in charge of collecting data across specific locations in Chouf and Bekaa from smallholder farmers for the selection of the project’s beneficiaries. The locations are: Majed El Meouch, Ser Jbeil, Batloun, Saadnayel, Kfarzabad and Majed El Banaa.
The Enumerators report directly to the Project Manager and regularly communicate with the Agricultural Consultant working under the project.
Main Tasks
- Induction and training: Attend an induction meeting with Mada’s MEAL Manager and participate in a session on clean data collection and proper communication with stakeholders and beneficiaries, ensuring adherence to Mada’s code of ethics and PSEA policies.
- Field assessments: Conduct detailed technical assessment through field visits, filling out surveys with farmers to collect accurate data.
- Reporting and updates: Collaborate with the Agricultural Consultant and debrief the Project Manager on the progress of data collection and any challenges faced during the process (daily updates).
- Data verification: Conduct phone calls to verify collected data when necessary. If further validation is required, conduct additional field visits for validation purposes.
- Data submission: Submit accurate and complete data within specified timelines, adhering to quality standards in data collection.
Minimum Qualification and Experience
- Full adherence to Mada’s mission and vision, as well as Ethics Code and PSEA policies
- Previous experience in data collection (familiarity with Kobo App preferred)
- A degree in Agriculture, Rural Development or related field
- Good Organizational, coordination and time-management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Fluent in Arabic, good level of English
- Proactive, flexible and dynamic
- Able to use a personal car and having a driving license.
Duration
The Enumerators are expected to start working in the second week of July 2024. Each Enumerator will work for 10 days.
