Responsible for providing care to Beth Aleph Center children during their presence in the center and communicating with parents / caregivers about the child health.
MAJOR DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Activities
- Welcome beneficiaries at the center
- Preserve patient(s) safety and security
- Take vital signs
- Assist the physicians in their medical consultations if needed
- Provide nursing services
- Document actions by completing forms, reports and patient records in a timely manner, including maintaining a comprehensive health summary
- Communicate with secondary and tertiary providers to ensure the continuity of care
- Participate in training(s), orientation(s)
- Act in a professional manner reflecting the mission of Caritas Lebanon and demonstrate compliance with all policies and procedures
- Ensure that beneficiaries and their families are aware of the services offered in the center
- Participate in the preparation of the awareness sessions and any other campaign
- Participate in school visits and activities pertaining to the school health programs
- Proceed with data entry as assigned
- Control and maintain, in collaboration with the center coordinator, the stock of the center, ensure that equipment and other supplies are in stock and declare all out of orders
- Provide management of a comprehensive center health program by assessing, planning/coordinating, implementing and evaluating center health services in order to achieve following goals: maximize in-class time by reducing health-related absenteeism, eliminate or minimize health problems which impair learning, and achieve the highest possible degree of independent student functioning.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Compassionate, responsible, reliable. Good communication skills with colleagues, children and beneficiaries.
- Thorough follow up with the children’s health file, vaccination, nutrition.
- Daily rounds in the classrooms to detect illness, contagious diseases, accidents.
- Plan and adhere to a scheduled awareness sessions to children in the classrooms.
- Plan and present awareness to families on hygiene, health, nutrition, risk factors at home.
- Create protocols as needed, fire, earthquake, diseases (Corona, Cholera etc..)
- Maintain the infirmary equipment, medication and hygiene of the center.
- Attend to emergency situation and accompany children to hospital.
- Submit a quarterly and annual health and activity reports to the Administration.
- Participate and assist in Medical and health campaigns conducted in liaison with CL Health Department.
- Implementation of communicable disease control, including monitoring, surveillance, and participating in disease prevention and outbreak management within the center.
- Serve as a healthcare consultant for the center personnel, children, and their families.
- Assure the appropriate documentation is maintained for center health services and activities.
- Documentation, compilation, and analysis of data for required reports.
- Coordinate the establishment of guidelines, procedures, and training in First Aid/CPR/ for staff.
- Participate in the development of the center’s emergency health and crisis plan.
Generic Duties
- Follow Caritas Lebanon operational policy and procedures
- Respect the internal policies and procedures for example: dress code, attendance, discipline, etc.
- Complete schedules, activity planners, monitor staff availability and act against any shortfalls
- Resolve any staff issues and escalate any unresolved issue to the related manager
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
JOB KNOWLEDGE
Academic:
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing / Registered Nurse
Other Qualifications:
- Communication, writing, analytical and negotiation skills
Related Work Experience:
- 5 to 7 years of experience in related field
Language skills:
- English and Arabic
Computer Literacy:
- MS-Word / MS-Excel – Intermediate level
