JOB SUMMARY: The Adolescent Girls Psychosocial Worker works within the GBV program and team and will lead interventions focused on psychosocial support and empowerment of adolescent girls.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function with or without reasonable accommodation.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Planning
•    Work closely with WGSS Supervisor/management, staff team, local partners, and community stakeholders, as relevant, to plan adolescent girls’ activities. 
•    Contribute to assessments as required to identify appropriate locations, modalities, and approaches for support to adolescent girls.
•    Consult with GBV casework team to understand trends of GBV affecting adolescent girls.
•    Consult with diverse girls to plan a range of relevant activities. 
•    Develop procurement plans and submit supply requests for activities.

Capacity Building and Implementation 
•    Lead implementation of adolescent girl-focused activities within WGSS, in line with the WGSS Toolkit and other relevant resources
•    Respond to the contextual needs of adolescent girls in the design and delivery of services/activities.
•    Promote girls’ leadership. 
•    Orient new adolescent girl visitors to the WGSS and the range of activities and services for girls 
•    Implement specific approaches, where relevant (e.g., Girl Shine, My Safety, My wellbeing)
•    Train and support Adolescent Girls Life Skills Facilitators, as relevant
•    Train staff, partners, volunteers, members, and others, as relevant, in GBV core concepts, adolescent-friendly services, girls’ leadership, and other relevant topics
•    Engage caregivers and community leaders, as relevant.
•    Organize distribution of dignity kits for adolescent girls, where relevant
•    Support peer volunteers engaged for outreach, where relevant
•    Coordinate with GBV Casework Supervisors/GBV Caseworkers to ensure safe and effective referrals for adolescent girls.
•    Provide GBV case management services for adolescent girls, as needed, and based on level of training, in line with Interagency GBV Case Management Guidelines and IMC standards.
•    Respond with compassion and discretion to anyone who discloses GBV or need for individual support; ensure appropriate service referrals. 

Human Resources 
•    Recruit and supervise adolescent girls’ life skills facilitators, adolescent girls support staff, outreach staff, where relevant
•    Train and support staff, volunteers, adolescent girls contributing to leadership of activities, where relevant
•    Ensure, as possible, that staff/volunteers/members leading adolescent girl activities represent the diversity of girls in community.
•    Develop support strategies for GBV staff/partners/volunteers, foster teambuilding, and support principles of self-care.

Monitoring and Reporting
•    Conduct group discussions to understand needs, interests, and preferences of girls. 
•    Seek and analyse girls’ feedback and community feedback and adapt activities accordingly. 
•    Track data on girls’ participation, including appropriate security of any personally identifiable information.
•    Adhere to case management protocols where relevant.
•    Contribute to internal and external reports.

Coordination, Advocacy and Representation
•    Coordinate regularly with WGSS Supervisor/Casework Supervisor/ GBV Deputy Manager/Manager/Coordinator and participate, as required, in broader team meetings.
•    Coordinate with relevant community focal points, local partners, and girls’ networks
•    Represent feedback related to girls’ risks, rights, and needs within GBV program team and with external partners, as relevant.
•    Strengthen service referrals for adolescent girls.
•    Promote a survivor-centred approach in all internal and external communication.
•    Represent program goals and GBV standards. 

Security and Conduct
•    Ensure compliance with security protocols and policies.
•    Foster a safe and supportive working environment for all GBV staff and partners.
•    Exemplify core principles of GBV programming, including respect, non-discrimination, responsible use of power, nonviolence, and promotion of gender equality. 
•    Contribute to the positive image and overall credibility of the program and organization, notably through adherence to the Code of Conduct and Ethics, including compliance with anti-harassment, safeguarding and PSEA policies.

Code of Conduct

As applicable to this position, an individual must promote and encourage a culture of compliance and ethics throughout the organization and maintain a clear understanding of International Medical Corps’ and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards. If this is a supervisory position, one must set an example of ethical behavior through one’s own conduct and oversight of the work of others; ensure that those who report to you have sufficient knowledge and resources to follow the standards outlined in the Code of Conduct & Ethics; monitor compliance of the people you supervise; enforce the Code of Conduct & Ethics and International Medical Corps’ policies, including the Safeguarding Policy and the Protection from Harassment, Bullying and Sexual Misconduct in the Workplace Policy, consistently and fairly; support employees who in good faith raise questions or concerns.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•    Relevant experience helping girls required; Relevant academic experience such as social work preferred.
•    Demonstrated commitment to core principles of GBV programming, including gender equality and survivor-centered support services. 
•    Demonstrated familiarity, respect, and empathy for girls.
•    Commitment to championing survivors 
•    Good interpersonal and advocacy skills
•    Very good listening and communication skills
•    Training and facilitation experience
•    Familiarity with community structures, including government and NGO service providers. 
•    Good interpersonal and advocacy skills
•    Ability to exercise sound judgment, remain flexible, and apply experience and guidance to evolving challenges. 

Additional Technical or Language Requirements

Please note, for Lebanon-based roles, we are only able to accept applications from candidates who are eligible to work in Lebanon. Since the position is a national role, we are unable to progress applications that would require sponsorship. The position is based in Taalabaya Bekaa with required travels to the field.
