The short-listed candidates will be interviewed to be selected
based on a scoring grid covering the below areas:
1)
Eligibility and qualifications (50%): University degree; years of experience in required field consultancy and capacity building; Proven experience in carrying out similar projects; Previous knowledge/experience in the implementation geographical area.
2) Interview (25%): Executive management and HR evaluation
3) Financial offer (25%): The financial offer will be evaluated based on per diem rate
Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including: month and end-year process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, trust account statement reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity etc.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
• Coordinate and complete annual audits.
• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
• Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Meet financial accounting objectives.
• Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
Requirements:
• At least a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, CGA).
• At least 10 years of proven experience as a senior accountant.
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.
• The Senior Accountant shall have direct previous experience with financial management of projects financed by international donors, including reporting and procurement.
• The Senior Accountant should be proficient in English and Arabic.
• Experience with creating financial statements, general ledger functions, and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present financial data using detailed reports and charts.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and with diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated commitment to upholding financial laws and managing company finances responsibly, as well as gender equality, social inclusion, and community development.
